That's my plan as well. I hope it works. The previous months don't have me too optimistic. It's a shame though - I had a work colleague at Microsoft apply in October of last year together with her husband. He was approved in March/April and her in May/June. It doesn't seem like they've made much progress since.

True, one officer says something that totally differs from what the next officer you call tells you. Not getting discouraged is what matters here. I've gotten plenty of those worthless responses from USCIS, they lost my file at one point and couldn't locate it... I just kept moving and being patient is a key. Good luck with everything! :-)

I was discourage the first time when I found out these officers being not on the same page, so I had always thought what they told me was was too good to be true anyway, so i moved on. I will still file a service request after i am outside the processing times even though it is likely that I would get a generic response that means absolutely nothing. I might also make an info pass, maybe I can confirm they are in deep combine my 400 and 751. You do what you can outside the processing times and you just need to keep waiting, the patience will be rewarded eventually. If you did not apply for 400, you will probably gear from them within a month or anytime, you will be ok. Good luck. I have been ready to expect another 7 month wait at least.

If you work for Microsoft, you're probably aware of employee turnovers because of the hot economy in Seattle (or Redmond in your case). 

 

Something tells me that visa officers changed jobs for more money and that might be the cause of the slow speed at the Seattle office!  

 

I have a feeling that they now work for Amazon!

Well, it was Veterans Day today!    But...it's not Thanksgiving yet!  

 

We're at Aug 4 (the date of sending an application)!  

We will probably be skipped over anyway, I feel like I am Sarah Connor in Terminator 2 when Dr. Silberman says to her "I don't have any choice but letting you stay for another 6 months"

Hey, @AustinCanada - I know it's too early to make generalizations, since we've only had a few approvals... but it kinda looks to me like they're going more by biometrics date than by NOA date. Which kinda makes sense, given that the application isn't considered "complete" until they have our biometrics. Just seemed interesting to me. 

Sorry your offices are so slow with N-400 - I've got mine all ready to send (I'm going to file online) the moment I hear about I-751... although I think I'll just go ahead and send it if I haven't heard anything by the end of this month. (I think, even if they haven't got to us by then, they'll be so close that they won't bother connecting the two cases.) I do want to get my 10 year green card b/c Tucson is a busy office for Infopasses and a long wait for N-400s and I don't want to have to get another stamp. (Which I need because AZ doesn't give full-term drivers' licences.)

Hi guys, just an update. I got an update that my case was approved last Saturday, got notification that the card was mailed to me on Thursday, and got my greencard delivered yesterday(Friday) along with the approved letter.

I thought you were excited about the possibility of you getting your 10-year Green Card since someone from the same office (LA) just got it even though they filed for N-400?

Of course i am excited by the idea, but the thing is UK/US applied for his 400 just a week prior to the 751 approval, so it could easily be an anomaly. Who would not be excited by having 751 approved while 400 is pending? But my expectations are super low, that possibility is probably just a fantasy.

USCIS going by the biometris date makes sense!     From one of the N-400 threads, I heard that your case might get delayed if you do an early walk-in for your biometrics since USCIS has to match your early appointment with your original date.  

 

If I were you, I'd wait until you get your 10-year Green Card since you now live in AZ (especially Tucson!).      Yes, you can file online since your case might get processed faster if your field office has a history of processing online cases faster.

I believe CSC is processing cases received on Aug 4 (although they may be going by the biometrics date). 

 

I think you sent your application on Aug 4 so you'll find out in the next two weeks if you're receiving a 10-year Green Card and the LA office is handling your case differently.  Fingers crossed!
