I had just changed my address when I went for my Infopass and they didn't ask for verification of my address. They did confirm that the new address was in their system, and the whole process was painless. All I needed was my expired GC (which they kept, so scan or make copies) the extension, my passport and my appointment confirmation. I think she might have looked at my driver's license too but I don't remember.

Thank you, I filed online AR-11, but when I called to confirm, they said I had to call them again to file the change of address on the phone, which I did. Also, I just sent 865 through mail. We will see, thank you!

I got my approval letter today. The status has not changed online yet.  Long story short, I got an RFE on July 17( I forgot my child's birth certificate), I was out of the country so I replied on August 28, I was approved on September 19.

new member of VJ here!!!. this site has really helped me handle my i751 case without lawyer. i wish i visited the site when we filed for our CR green card with our expensive lawyer.

I received approval letter in my mail today 09/25. approval date is 09/19/2019. sent our ROC doc Aug 14 2016 with NOA1 08/19 and biometrics on 09/22. Filed in VSC, no interview and no RFE.  Funny thing is i called USCIS 800 line earlier in the day and the officer had no idea i was already approved. Just kept telling me case is few days from being looked at.

 

To others still waiting, hang in there, your approvals will surely come through. Cant wait to file N400 when i get the card.

Has anyone with a late July 2016 / early August 2016 receipt number,  used that naughty little 'USCIS Case Tracker & Searcher' app to look at where we are at with CSC approvals? The most recent version of the app filters by CRI-89 application types.

Make an InfoPass at the nearest field office. Bring passport, green card, and extension letter, and ask for an I-551 stamp that will give her proof of status for another year. (Some offices only give a stamp valid for 6 months; most give a year.) The stamp is legally equivalent to a green card. Then, take the passport with the I-551 stamp in it and any other regular documentation the DMV might require for a license renewal, and she should be able to renew the license for the validity of the stamp. Good luck!

I think the 12 month extension is from GC expiration date. The letter states your residency is extended for 1 year.  

 

Regarding Driv. License which state issues 2 yr driver license. I think NY issues 10 YR License.

Nope. NY is 5 years. It actually expires on your birthday of the fifth year, so it is technically less than 5 years.

VA will only extend it as long as the green card is good, so she got a one year license.

So the response at InfoPass was call back tomorrow, all appointments are filled.  This was at 7 AM.  Oh and the joy of driving an hour to their office.

I hear ya! Are you calling to make an InfoPass, or using the site? The usual way is to use the site (https://my.uscis.gov/en/appointment/new?appointment[international]=false) and check back often, in case spots open up. People also say that the next day's worth of appointments, i.e. 14 days ahead, opens at midnight, so sometimes people have luck getting a slot by checking right after midnight.

 

My wife just got her stamp yesterday, but Chicago only does 6 months. So now we get to go to the DMV and see if they'll extend the license for those six months (I've heard stories that they won't do anything if your proof of status expires in less than six months, which would be unfortunate, but I haven't seen that rule written anywhere.)
