Just wanted to give an update on our case.  My husband was approved for his 10 year green card on 8/17/2017 at Vermont Service Center and received his card in the mail September 5, 2017.

Anyways, seems like the L2 officer I talked to was roughly right. My case was updated today - but no status update. Just says last updated 09/18, but when I check status it says that they received the case 08/04/2016.. So something is going on there..

The case was updated and there is no update? You mean the processing times were updated?

I think youmust have refreshed the case and it showed last updated date which probably you never noticed before.

Ooh! That's exciting! During the I-130/NVC process we used to call that sort of random update a "touch" - as in: someone finally touched your file! Hopefully you get an answer soon!

I spoke to a level 2 officer, who told me that my case is in normal processing time and that I should hear something in a few months. I asked her to elaborate what she means by "a few months"   and she said most likely by January or February of 2018. 

 

I said, it is frustrating to wait over a year. She said I am not the only person who has to wait. She mentioned, You are free to travel internationally after you get a stamp. Doesn't stop you to get your DL or State ID and that you are authorized to work in the U.S. I didn't know what to tell her after I heard this.

 

Well anyway, it is what it is and there is absolutely nothing that we can do at this time. I hope the wait is worth it. 

 

Can someone please add me to the timeline?

In your case status account - it says when the case was last updated. My N400 case shows when they received it, the I751 case shows yesterdays date - but the status is still the same.

Nope, it says when the case was last updated. My N400 still says the date they received it. Also, my older cases (AOS) show the date with last action.

Hi guys, I want to get an update on my status but I don't know who to call. or the number to call. do I call CSC or the local USCIS?my NOA is Aug 1, I already had my biometrics but I haven't heard about interview or any RFE. i'm really worried now coz my visa is going to expire this end of Sept and I checked my status through myUSCIS status and there's no change. Should I ask for extension for my visa? I don't know what to do. What's L2 btw? HELP pls....

You call USCIS to inquire or you can put in a request online at USCIS website.  L2 means Level 2 supervisor or a Tier 2 Supervisor.  They are able to look specifically at your case file versus the initial customer service rep who is a Level 1 or Tier 1.

No need to panic. You can make an infopass appointment online to extend your conditional green card for a year(Some give 6 months). Some officers go by NOA, some go by the expiration date of the conditional green card. You can request to get an extension within 30 days of NOA's or conditional green card's expiration date. They will extend it for another year or 6 months while they are processing your 751. I don't expect CSC approving August filers soon until maybe end of this year or next Jan or even Feb, so I would just get the extension and be done with it. Here is the website: https://my.uscis.gov/appointment You can also call a regular USCIS officer and ask to be transferred to talk to an immigration officer(tier 2), sometimes if you are lucky, the tier 2 might be able to give you more detailed info on your case, but it is still mostly a waste of time in my opinion to call them, they will just tell you your case is pending and it is still within the normal processing times.

usps lost my biometric appt letter,informed delivery was saying it supposed to be delivered sep 11th(sent sep07 from corbin ky zip code).

NOA date on the receipt was aug 17th 2017

Spent half an hour spelling my info to that robot from uscis.

Should i try going to application center without notice?

Will they take me?
