According to what I read, you and your spouse have an I-751 interview; then, your spouse steps away and you have an N-400 interview on the same day.  :reading:

Your visa officer may not adjudicate your applications on the spot.    That was the case of the June (May?) filer I mentioned.  They had to go home without getting approved since the officer wanted to take more time to process their applications.

Yes, i remember, the buddy who had that experience said he actually passed the 400 interview, but the officer said he would have to look more

Yes, we may get your 10-year Green Card before our citizenship interview.

If that happens, your field office won't conduct a combo interview and your spouse doesn't need to be interviewed.  :star:

i took another chance and talked to another immigration officer just now. This time, I was actually given a reference number. She was very nice and she told me next time when i call, I can just provide the reference number to a second tier officer and it would bring up the latest detail and additional info normally the online status won't give. She said actually i would hear from them in about 3 weeks, there should be an update on my 751. Really? Too good to be true again? This time i got a reference number though. We will see. I still won't get my hopes up.

Has anyone here gotten a reference number from a second tier officer before? I talked to one again today and she told me the reference number WKD############CSC, and she told me i would hear from them in 3 weeks. Wow, really? I still won't get my hopes up, and i remain cautiously and conservatively optimistic and try to be realistic at the same time. She said next time i can just use the reference number when i talk to a second tier immigration officer and it will bring up all the additional information that a normal online status won't reveal. Let's see what happens, I am hoping she is right that I am going to hear from them soon, and again, another officer while ago told me i would hear from them by mid Sept, lol. But at least this time i get a reference number. We will see.

As August came and went, with no movement for those of us who filed at CSC... Is anybody keeping a list of what the official USCIS updates have been over the past several months at CSC?

Found old processing times online, so I was able to create a chart myself. Here it is, in case anyone is curious about actual CSC data as reported by USCIS over the past year.

(Even this evidence probably won't be good enough to convince a Chicago field office officer to give a 12-month I-551 stamp rather than the 6-months ones they've apparently been giving out, but it'll certainly be worth a try...)

That is why I do not file my N-400 because it's gonna be double interview while you could avoid bringing your spouse and having this stressful time of getting separated and interrogated like it happened to us on AOS interview.

I was wondering too to track down these times. It's just wow. What the hack happened in October 2016? You could assume it's trump-related but it was before elections and no one knew he would win. Plus other service centers maintained their own pace. I was told at my Infopass it was due change in administration of CSC in considerable degree.

So you think the interview may or may not happen? Do you think your chances of getting the interview are big or the same as mine? Or applying for 400 while 751 is pending automatically triggers the interview for 751 no matter what? I still think there still could be a chance that we get our 751 approved first though.

I think in circumstances of lack of resources, when USCIS cannot afford calling each and everyone for an interview, it'd be very unreasonable of them not to ask you to bring your spouse for I-751 interview when you have to show up for N-400 interview anyways. It will cost them nothing. But I don't want to scare you. I've also read about waiving I-751 interview when filing I-751 and N-400 at the same time.

We did not have a choice, my spouse is already 89 years old, i want him to see me become naturalized, and so does he, it means a lot to us in a personal level, and we will not be stressed out about the interview because we have known other and been together for 20 years, and our marriage is bona fide. If your marriage is bona fide, then you should be ok even if they do a stoke interview, but i understand you went through an unpleasant experience at the 485 interview, but you made it, you beat them, you made case that your marriage was real. Also, nobody necessarily knows for sure whether there will be an interview regardless of the circumstances. There is no absolute when it comes to USCIS in my opinion, nothing is black and white either. Just because you did not apply 400, does not necessarily mean you can avoid an interview either. They do interview for various reasons and not necessarily for the reason of doubting you. In other words, you can just do so much, and USCIS has the total control, not us. I could not get married to my now spouse until 4 years ago because gay marriage and federal benefits were not recognized until 2013, and it is personal that we want my spouse to see the moment when I am sworn in since there is no guarantee how long he can last. (Knock on wood his health is ok). You just can't avoid certain situations you don't like by doing things in certain way. I would file 400 if I were you without waiting much longer, if they combine the two and do two interviews, you might have a PTSD moment due to 485 stoke interview experience, but remember, it will be another officer and you have been vetted and approved once already, not telling you what to do, but you will be ok if your marriage is real. Since 751 is taking forever, I personally think it won't hurt to apply 400 because you might still get an interview anyway without applying 400 depending on your evidence and the adjudicator. Good luck.

Just wanted to ask, I'm an early August 2016 filer at VSC. Did my biometrics last September and heard nothing since.

I called them a few times and was told they are processing July 2016.

I have another month and a half before the date on my GC expires.

Anyone else experiencing this with VSC?

i want to have more information before calling uscis again.

The best thing to do and that I would advice is to contact your senator and congress man. One of those will most likely respond to your case. When I was waiting for my K1 visa and it was beyond processing time, I did exactly that. The day that they contacted USCIs, is the day they approved my case. Also when I was waiting for my green card, the same thing happened when I contacted the same offices. I am a November filer, planning to contact my senator and congressman, in case my 10 year GC isnt here yet.

1 year 1 month and 9 days. I wonder how much longer August filers have to wait. As far as I know, not single one August filer here has been approved. I say another 6 to 8 months, so sad and unfortunate.:(
