Hi guys,

We filed for removal of conditions at the end of August 2016, like all of you, we are still waiting. When should we think about making an info pass appointment? The extension letter is dated 8/31/2016 but his GC expired on 11/25/16. I just looked at the online infopass scheduler and it says there are no available appointments in the next 2 weeks for our location, check again tomorrow. I'm thinking I will need to check daily until an appointment opens up, so should I try to schedule as soon as something opens up? Or should we wait until closer to Nov.? Thank you for your help in this matter.

Yeah - I would look first thing in the morning for an appointment slot. They seem to come available around midnight or 2am. Each office uses different information on I551 stamps - some use the extension letter date and others use the GC expiration date. I'd schedule the appointment and give it a shot to get the stamp. Your status doesn't expire, but I always take comfort in knowing I have something to show. You really only need it for entry to the US if you leave and proof of employment eligibility. Just make sure you have a current passport or bring two passport pictures with you to the appointment.

I'm on the East Coast (FL), and at CSC... Not all states from the East Coast file at VSC;)

I was on east coast when I filed AOS, waited 12 months with an interview waiver.

Now I am on west coast and stuck with CSC

Yup, I also waited roughly 11 months for my AOS, and now also stuck with CSC, on the East Coast. But it doesn't matter, I'll be applying for naturalization as soon as my window opens on November 1st.

I had the same problem. I think in our location they only became available on Sunday nights, and filled out around Monday afternoon.

My letter is dated 8/24, date in card is 9/30, and I went to my appt on 8/14 without any problem.

Hi VJERS. My situation is I guess a bit outside the "norm" so I wanted to share my timeline since VJ has helped me so much over the years and I check this thread consistently.

My 1-751 Jointly Filed package was received on Aug 26th 2016 with my extension letter and online status having this date of receipt (CSC). Received Biometrics letter on Sept 29 2016 with an appt date 2 weeks later. I walked in the next day Sept 30 2016 and was able to do my Biometrics early with no problems. My husband and I had been having some problems which escalated at the end of the year and we ended up separating and living apart in mid December 2016. We weren't able to reconcile so we recently ended up filing for divorce end of June  which was processed quickly and finalized in July 2017.

I just recently put a new package together with a letter asking to switch to a Divorce Waiver and some other evidence which was received at the California Lockbox yesterday ( Aug 17/2017).

It will be interesting to see if this perhaps will speed up my case as they will most likely have to touch it, or perhaps push it back EVEN FURTHER. Who knows.............

I also travelled out of country mid July and coming back in didn't have problems but when I asked about the extension letter the Immigration Officer told me they go by the EXTENSION LETTER date for expiry...........So for me I guess that looks like August 26 2017 expiry date. Obviously extremely annoying because there doesn't seem to be a consistent answer on this....Also it looks like I've now misplaced my extension letter since coming back so I guess I'm going to be staying  in the country, not trying to change jobs etc and sit tight hopefully until this is dealt with. If I have to leave or am needing a new job I guess I'm going to have to go into the Field Office ( Luckily I at least made a copy of the extension letter so I have that).

If someone can add me to the timeline that would be great!

Save yourself the headache and make an InfoPass appointment to get an I-551 stamp in your passport.

Yes, but I scanned it for the roc application so I'll still have it for M

N-400. She said I should send both: copy of stamp and copy of original card for N-400. She did offer to make me a copy before she took it, but since I already have one I told her not to bother.

Just checked the June thread and it looks like CSC if finally picking up and approving more and more late June filers. That is encouraging. Maybe when we see the next update next month, they will have processed half of July filers. It is encouraging.:D

Just an update that we received the green card in the mail on Friday, August 18th. It would have arrived on the 17th but I applied with a typo in the zip code and that took an extra day for USPS to sort out.

The online case status never updated to reflect our approval, but the approval letter was dated July 30th. The online case status did update for the other stages, reading "Card production ordered on August 10th" and "Green card mailed on August 14th."

We are VSC and received the old green card format, not the new one.

This one has gone unnoticed. I believe we have the first CSC July filer that got approved! His or her NOA is July 8. 2016, but this applicant used his or her mailing date as the filing date and we all know the USCIS' receiving date is what counts and matters. Maybe they are bringing to adjudicate July filers! Fingers crossed.
