Awesome news!

Good luck on the final part of the process before you are reunited with your loved one!

please keep in touch on how it's goes? Any short cuts? (Booking before you receive any packet)

Thank you!

I will do. Once you get your LND case number from NVC you can go ahead and book medical and interview. There appears to be visa appointments from 3 weeks - 2 months in advance so its easy to plan with the medical. Just make sure to get all the required vaccinations etc Pre medical to speed things up :)

Great!  I just booked MMR jabs at my local clinic and I am currently trying to work out whether i will need the flu jab.  I'm not sure whether my medical will be before or after April 1st - but my AOS will be during flu season I think.

I also have it on my to-do list that I need to get my police report asap so that I have it before the medical.  There seems to be a long list of things I need to gather to do that online? It's a pity my police check that I have for work doesn't count.

I don't think it will take long from here.  we received our noa2 approval on Monday 30th and the approval notice arrived in the post at Aaron's yesterday - which said that the case had been sent to nvc - so he is going to phone today to see if we have a number yet - some others have been quite quick.to get their case numbers and their medicals and interviews.  I don't have a mad rush as I can't leave until July but it owuld be such a relief to get through this part of the process and know that we can push ahead with the wedding arrangements and booking my flight.  I am probably going to try for the medical before Easter and the visa interview after.  What are everyone else's plans?

We aren't really sure on the exact plan yet! I am in graduate school on the west coast of the US until early April, then in a placement (graduate nursing school to be a midwife) on the east coast in Boston April-June, then graduate back on the west coast in early June, so it's a chaotic time. Ideally, she would arrive shortly before graduation, see me graduate from grad school, and then move to the east coast with me. But since we don't know timing exactly, we are not sure what the plan will be! But yes, hopefully very end of May or end of the first week of June is what we are aiming for, with a very small wedding with very close loved ones mid to late June.

I hope you're enjoying the wedding planning stuff! I help where I can, but she is much better at and enjoys it much more than I do - so much of that has fallen to her (to pick a venue for the small reception) despite her being in the UK, and me being in the US! It'll be up to me to find a bakery for the cake (I have celiac disease, so gluten free it is) and a photographer. Much more fun to think about than compiling evidence for police reports and medicals, etc.

we were planning a simple wedding in his parents back yard - but somehow the guest list has crept up to about 70!  I am hoping that if I get there in early July then at least I can make the food - we are going to have a picnic in the garden - I'll be able to bake and freeze the cakes etc...  we are having an inexpensive wedding as the cost of the whole process and having to wait for the EAD will mean we will be on a tight budget (aren't we all?).  We decided to set up a gofundme page so that people could donate to help with the visa costs instead of buying wedding gifts.  browsing for wedding rings and shhoes is my time off from scouring the web for information about the visa/medical/paperwork/fees etc...

I hear you there! We are on such tight budgets - especially as I am graduating from school and will be seeking employment with my new degree at the time she arrives. My parents are willing to house us temporarily until my first job will start - but it's definitely stressful! Trying to keep costs down while having a guest list that has crept to 20 (from our initial 5-8) with a reception at a nice restaurant, cake, photographer, nice outfits for both of us, then all the visa fees...it definitely creeps up! That's an excellent idea, to have people pitch in for visa costs instead of gifts! That's amazing that you really enjoy cooking and will be able to do do it for that many people!

any thoughts on when your fiance might try to scheduule her medical?  I just realised we could end up with similar dates!  I am hoping to get the medical done as soon as possible - although I have a busy period at work so it might be awkward, but then I'll wait until after Easter for the visa interview as I am taking a little holiday at easter and can't risk being without my passport...

Someone earlier mentioned that once you have your case number, the medical appointment can be scheduled for 3weeks to 2 months ahead.  It would be good to get the medical out of the way in early march if possible.

Someone earlier mentioned that once you have your case number, the medical appointment can be scheduled for 3weeks to 2 months ahead.  It would be good to get the medical out of the way in early march if possible.

She will schedule her medical as soon as she is able after getting a case number from the NVC. She will have a slightly harder time gathering information for her police report - so that might be the thing that slows us down a little. She very recently moved in with a friend when her lease ended, as she is hoping to be in the UK only temporarily and did not want to re-sign a 12-month lease. So she is in the process of gathering proof of address, as she hasn't changed over any of her addresses (driving licence, bank, etc) and has no utility bills etc to her new place of address, and she doesn't want to be faulted for anything by the government!

I do believe that some folks have been able to schedule medical appointments pretty quickly - certainly within a 1 month time frame! I'll definitely post on here as soon as she gets her NVC number and is able to schedule the medical!

I'm excited for you all! Being a December filer with a uscis date of 13/12/16 and noa1 dated 17/12/16. I am hoping with the pace that seems to creeping up to be approved by mid march maybe by the end and was calculating and hoping to be through medical and interview and on a plane for early/mid may.....sometimes I wish it could all be over and I could with my fiancé but she is keeping focused and ensuring it will come quicker (sometimes find myself being highly pessimistic lol).

will be following this thread closely to see how you all get on and what steps you take for both parts, sometimes I know what I'm doing other times, I'm like what?!?!

Hi! We received our NOA2 on 4th Feb (it was approved on 27th Jan). I was going to wait for the letter with our case number but I've been hounding my fiancé to call the NVC and try to acquire it so that we can get moving. I've applied for the ACRO police check (and one from China as I lived there for 7 years). I think as soon as I physically have them both I can book the medical, then fill out the applicant readiness form. I've already filled in the DS 160.

From what I've read, people have waited for the 'packet 3' letter from London and never received it. I'm not sure how I'd go about booking the interview as you have to specify on the website that you've received it to get to the next page.

Hoped for/optimistic date for POE: May 1st!! :D

We filed our petition on November 1st (NOA1 dated Nov 7th) and we got approved on Jan 27th. The estimated time for approval was 5 months but we got it in less than 3.

I'm not sure about the packet three info - although there is a page on here somewhere which details exactly what it is - and as far as I can gather it is a letter telling you where the web pages are for you to proceed to interview.  We are chasing our case number at the moment - NOA2 approval was 30th January and we were told to call NVC again on Monday as they thought they'd have our case number by then - so you might get yours today if you call as you were the Friday before us.  When you have that I think you can book your medical.  It will be another week or two before you'd get packet three - but you could have your medical scheduled by then and be ready for interview!  I'm not sure what to do about the ds-160 - you don't need to have that completed for the medical so i'd just push on and chase up with the embassy if you don't receive it within two weeks of your case number.

Thanks! I just want to hit the ground running and have everything ready to go for when I get the interview. The DS 160 took me a couple of hours to fill in.

I feel like all we need is that magical LDN number!

Hi all!

Since i'm a little ahead ill help out where i can with my experience. The all important LND number allows you to book your Medical and Interview as soon as you get that over the phone you are good to go. Fill in the DS160 once you get it. 'Packet Three' is simply just a letter advising that london have your case with a URL for the online visa information page, this letter arrives a few weeks following the LND number. Once you have the DS160 completed and all your documents ready i134 etc, remember to complete the 'Readiness' form on the London embassy site. Then you are good to go ahead and book the medical and Interview.

I hope this was helpful :)
