Thank you! I read other people have been in AP i long time so i thought it wasn't just standard to start off with.

Always good to know theres people to put my mind at rest! thank you all

People from or who have lived in MENA countries or people with names similar to people on the terror watch list can spend months or years in AP. That's probably what you have seen.

When the Visa has been issued, do i have to stay in each day until it arrives or will i recieve a text message telling me when it will be here?

You will get an email to track delivery, I got mine the day after it was issued and it was out for delivery the next day :)

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

Hi Guys,

NOA2 has been received by my fiancé, and we're waiting on our NVC case number which we need to chase.

A couple of questions:

1. Our NOA2 came a lot quicker than expected. I am flying back out to see her for a month in November, the forms are all on line aren't they so I can do them out there? And I will be able to arrange the medical for when I am back from there?

2. I met her when I was a uni student on a J1 exchange visa. I was at a party and got a Minor in Possession of alcohol so my record isn't perfectly clean. I have sent off for my ACRO which is clear, the only blemish is an alcohol ticket I got when I was 20, back in 2010. I will declare it as want to be as honest as I can be, but will that affect me getting the visa? An MIP is a misdemeanour, and a crime I can never commit again as obviously I'm over the age of 21 now. When I tick the box, will they ask me what happened at the interview? I would be distraught if having a beer six years a go affects my ability to be happy with my fiancé.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi guys, you lot were great last time, just one more quick question!

I have my interview booked on the 21st and just been reading the list of what to bring to the embassy and one of them is court and prison records. As above, the MIP ticket I received was issued in America, which it tells me not to get a police certificate for. Do I need to get the court records for the MIP or will they have that already if no police certificate for America is needed?

Thanks again!

If you received your MIP in the US they already have that information and it is probably in the file they sent over to the Embassy when they went through the initial vetting process to get your approval for the petition itself! The only information the US doesn't have is anything OUTSIDE of the US so you should be good to go!

That's what I was thinking, I am just such a worrier! I actually found my court letter with the charge and date on it, and took it to my medical yesterday.

Discussed it with the Doctor who was great about it. He had to ask follow up questions about my alcohol in take, but I very rarely drink so all that was fine. He told me he sees all sorts of criminal records and doesn't think an MIP will even be on their radar. I'll take take the court letter with me as well, but as you say, they should already know about it; and if they didn't then they will a week Wednesday!

Hoping to resurrect this thread for 2017 NOA2 recipients.  I know some processes have changed and perhaps UK K1 (i-129f) applicants from October/November 2016 onwards can discuss the process over here?  I have just received my NOA2 and am waiting for my LDN case number in order to get on with scheduling the medical and interview.

I have already begun filling in my DS-160 and am looking at getting my vaccinations and applying for my police report.  Any hints or tips?

So glad this is getting resurrected :).

i am a December filer with a noa1 date of 17/12/16. So this thread will help when it "eventually" comes to medical and interview stage.

i know there is no definitive answer but does anyone think I'm clutching at straws hoping for a middle of march nao2 approval :/

Have you been following the statistics from CSC?  If you look at the November filers thread you'll be able to see what is going on as regards current processing each day.  I think you might be a little ambitious hoping for mid-March at the moment - but maybe late March would be reasonable if the current processing rate continues at around 100 per day.  We are estimating that they might get to the end of November's (received) cases around the end of February/beginning of March - but be aware that they are processing fewer cases each day than are recieved each day - so being a couple of weeks behind the November filers would put you around late March for approval/handling at the moment.  What was your case received date?  This is how we are able to track the NOA2 approvals so you might be within the window for mid-March if your case received date is a few days earlier than your NOA1 date.  I suggest you have a nosey on the November filers thread for more information of estimated processing times :)

Wow! Thanks I'll have a look at the November forums, I have only really found the December one. Also been trying to distract myself as the wait is annoying and im normally the patience type, just sucks being away from my loved one. But things are in motion and gotta look at the bigger picture.

thanks for the information the uscis app has us a at 13/12/16 for received date and the noa1 4 days after 17th.

I had had thought I was being ambitious but was kind hoping for an end of April early may fly out to my new homeland. Remaining optimistic for now lol.

Also I know the country and embassy doesn't factor into speed and times. But from researching igors list and fellow UK petitioners. It seems the end of October and early November UK people are being approved between 70-90 days. Again I know it's just matters of uscis work speed.

Igor's list can be thrown a bit by a random approval that goes through more quickly.  There are some late October filers that are still waiting - some of us in early November got lucky with our cases being pulled before earlier cases. The difficulty is that until they start processing the cases at the same rate they received them, the wait is going to be longer.  There were over 400 cases received on the 14th November but until this week the most cases processed in a day had been about 70.

However, once you get your NOA2 and get your case number a couple of weeks later from NVC, you should be able to go ahead and book your medical I think. So if you get your approval mid to late March you should have a case number by early April and be able to book your medical for a couple of weeks after that.(If there are slots available -I don't know what their waiting list is like) - and then be able to book your interview for about a week to ten days after that. Then I think it can take up to a week for the visa to be couriered to you. All of that probably puts you between early to mid-May if you get a mid-March approval. Good luck!  Let me know how you get on.  Seeing the stats that are posted every day by Geowrian in the November thread really helps to see that cases ARE at last being processed.
