thank you, My fiance in america actually has a lawyer helping us but i assured her that i could do everything from this end. She told me i needed to wait to continue on and book everything and that i also have to submit documents to the NVC aswell?

Do you know if i booked everything now what would be roughly the earliest date i could have my interview??

I want to get to the US asap but its hard as i dont want to offend the lawyer by deciding these things on my own..

thanks!

Fiance checked yesterday and earliest dates are now hitting December.

Don't worry about offending a lawyer... they get paid regardless. LOL.

Follow those links! Promise, it'll work out well :)

You don't call them to move your appt sooner. You will just continue to check on the link where you schedule them to see if an earlier one opens up. A lot of UK VJ members have had success doing this. A few were able to move it up by 3 weeks.

Hello all

Do I have to fill out and pay for a separate DS160 for my child (K2 applicant) or does one DS160 cover my child and I?

Sorry, info on K2 applicants are very limited.

CR-1s through the NVC (which is my situation) cannot access the online appointment system. We have our appointments allocated by NVC and we are stuck with them.

Separate visa application and separate visa fee for you and your child.

Date of arrival; you can guess, or put your "wishlist" date.

Length of stay: n/a, since you're going to be there indefinitely.

You can't fill out the readiness form until you book your medical because the readiness form asks you for the date of your medical.

You need to schedule your medical at least 4 business days prior to your interview so that the results have time to get to the embassy. I recommend giving it a bit more time if you can just to be safe.

There is a chance that you may not get what is referred to as packet 3 (the instructions about how to proceed to interview) since they are trying to do everything all electronically at this point. They may get it out to you, but all you need to bring to your interview is the confirmation page from your DS-160 to confirm it was completed, the confirmation page from scheduling your interview, and the other required docs such as the I-134 and evidence, passport, police certs, etc. (You can see the links I provided previously for all the documents you need to take to your interview)

The packet used to contain a letter with your actual interview date on it. This is what you used to have to take, but since the Embassy no longer schedules K-1 interviews for us, you just need the confirmation page from when you pay your visa fee and scheduled your interview. The packet 3 is no longer needed to be received so do not stress if you don't get it!
