So on the 21st of septmeber (this month) My I-129F was approved. I believe this is known as NOA2? and we recieved a letter today saying i should wait 2-4 weeks to hear from the NVC. Does this mean that i can start calling the NVC for my LDN case number? Also once i have the case number but no letter, can i still apply for medical and embassy dates?

Thank you in advance..

Abbs,

Just to make sure was your NOA2 that you mentioned via text/email? That sounds like the message from your physical NOA 2 which usually means you can call the NVC in about 10 days or more. I am not at home so I don't have my NOA 2 in front of me, but that is just a guess.

I got approved on 9/15 and got my hardcopy 9/20 I plan to try calling Friday 9/30.

Edit: Fixed the date because I said Friday and used today's date ><

k-1's now schedule our own interviews. You wil need to fill out your DS 160, schedule your medical with knightsbridge, fill out your applicant readiness form, and then you can schedule your interview. Please see the info and below links.

All the info on scheduling the medical including the cost and how to schedule the medical is on this link:

https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/medical-examination/

This is the link you follow in order to fill out the DS 160 that is used for all K-1 Visa applicants

https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ (From the drop down select England, London. I have no idea why this is the ONLY part that doesn't reference the UK in the process)

This is the link to the applicant readiness form which is filled out after you schedule your medical and after you fill out the DS 160.

https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/notification-of-applicant-readiness-form/

Use the link below to schedule the interview after the above 4 things are done

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv

The link above is where you will also pay the $265 fee for the visa itself once you schedule your interview. It should also forward you to the courier website after you pay your fee and schedule your interview. Thankfully its a one stop shop kind of link!

You should receive information from the Embassy. The NVC does contact the petitioner via a letter with the case number and next steps for the embassy, but the beneficiary does not get this information.

When I called and spoke to the NVC on Friday 10/14/16 they told us that if I (petitioner) don't get a letter in the mail within two weeks that I should call again. I also had them add an email to our file for Jon so that the embassy can contact him via both email and mail with his embassy instructions. If your case hasn't left the NVC yet I recommend you try to do the same!

Thank you, Will i be recieving information from the us embassy in london and the NVC or just one?

The petitioner may or may not get a letter from the NVC- it just confirms their case number and advises the location of their embassy. I got mine about 2 weeks after calling and getting my case number over the phone.

The beneficiary may or may not get a letter from the Embassy once their file has been received- this letter contains a copy of the petition and the background check performed on the petitioner (so if you have any dirty laundry.... now your fiance/e can see it, lol!) This also includes instructions on how to schedule the interview. We received this about 2 days after the CEAC updated our case to "ready".... but about 1.5 weeks after we'd already booked literally everything.

Kat's links are what you need tho, as you can do it all without any of those physical hard copies. And I suggest you do, as interview dates are filling up quickly :)

Good luck!

thank you, My fiance in america actually has a lawyer helping us but i assured her that i could do everything from this end. She told me i needed to wait to continue on and book everything and that i also have to submit documents to the NVC aswell?

Do you know if i booked everything now what would be roughly the earliest date i could have my interview??

I want to get to the US asap but its hard as i dont want to offend the lawyer by deciding these things on my own..

thanks!

You don't submit any documents to NVC only IR/CR -1 Spousal visas do this. K-1 only bring documents to their interview for the officer to review.

Last time someone posted dates I think it was late november, but I can't check for you since we still can't schedule Jon's interview yet. We still have to fill out his readiness form and wait for the NVC to actually send his case to London still.

I would start booking everything now honestly. The biggest things you need to make sure you have are your Police certificates BEFORE your medical and your I-134 filled out with supporting documents BEFORE your scheduled interview date. You do have the option once your interview is scheduled to move it as needed so if I were you, I would start doing everything now.
