Typically it does not take long for the case to leave the NVC once it has a case number, as you can see from my signature. There are on occasion some delays, I think recently. Typically if you want to be super sure it's in London, the UKC receives packet 3, which is really just a letter saying ''hey we're ready'', but sometimes this is very tardy or never arrives. So I guess the question, I'd ask is, how do you know it's not in London already? Have you checked the CEAC, were you going by what the NVC said, or were you looking for a letter?

Hahaha I will legitimately send you a Starbucks card, if that is the date.

We have our NVC number, our case is at the NVC but hasn't been sent to London yet. Is there ANYTHING I can do in the meantime?

Yes. You can call Knightsbridge and make your appointment for the first available. Too bad I saw this at noon and they are closed (London time) or you could have done it today. Once you know that appointment date you are set to schedule the interview once the system lets you in. Do your DS-160 and Readiness form. Save to your computer and submit.

I think until London is ready for you, the interview scheduler will say your number isn't recognized. Keep trying until it lets you in. I can't say for positive if that is when you see "in transit, "ready", or London actually authorizes your number because they have your file and know you submitted the two online forms. People report different things.

Edit: Well I started typing this before subsequent posts, but had an interruption so repeated a few things already covered.

Buying a puppy before your spouse arrives is just cruel. Had I done that, my wife would have stabbed me at POE.

We're currently enjoying a puppy together that we got just 2 weeks ago.

can you just send print out of name and ldn. number for police certificate .. i m not even sure we get anything from embassy .. its all done online , even the form to submit that you are ready to interview

do we sign letter of intent at interview in london or before interview ?

They didn't request one for me, but I had my interview way before my NOA2 expired.

I believe you need a renewed one from the US fiance (wet signature) if you have your interview after your NOA2 expires - but someone correct me on that?

Just read from ACPO what they require to send you your police certificate. There is nothing from the embassy required.

i ve got both new ones , but read somewhere that i sign mine at interview ... i dont know though ! typical for whole proccess lol

If the petition is expired, the American needs to declare their intent again in a signed statement. The British beneficiary never needs a new letter of intent. The fact that you showed up indicates you still want a fiancé visa. Back before the online DS-160, there were four paper application forms. The DS-156K had a place for the applicant to sign which included an oath saying they intended to marry, etc...
