you won't believe this - but I went into my roofpsace to see if my previous passport was there - and I found my really old one that was issued in 1990!  The one that has my tourist visa from 1993!

I haven't found the missing passport between the two - but that doesn't have any US trips in it.

Good job! You probably won't need it after all that! haha

In reply to various topics in this thread-

Old passports are not required in London. If you present one, they will probably stare at you like "what's this for?" as they did for many before you.

The whole immunization list on CDC does not have to be documented. That is simply a comprehensive list of all immigration shots, but the whole list is not age appropriate for everybody. You do not have to catch up on your baby shots. Forget them and focus on the four required for adults as listed previously. Tell them you had chickenpox and you've covered varicella. Tetanus is not a stand-alone shot on the list. It is combined with diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap) or diptheria (Td). The person who said they had to get another tetanus even though the had one less than ten years ago, may have been missing one of the othe components.

Excellent advice below. If you haven't had any serious illnesses, surgeries, on-going meds, depression, then you don't really need to take a medical summary of your life to the clinic. They simply need more info on things they can't ascertain in meeting you for one visit.

Quote

I would emphasise that if you have been treated for any condition to which you have ticked 'yes' on the initial questionnaire - make sure that the medical summary from your own doctor includes dates, diagnosis, medication and duration of illness/issue.

Thank you for this.

I have just printed off the checklist from the London embassy for K1 - and you are right - on THAT list it doesn't ask for previous passports - although it does ask for previous passports on the information page for my interview.  So, I am feeling far more relaxed about that.

I had my previous tetanus (Td) shot nine years ago - and was given another on Monday as I was told I must document THREE previous shots.  The shot I was given on Monday was another Td shot not Tdap.  I was told that my immunisation record (DS3025) would be incomplete without it - and that whilst I didn't need a complete record for K1 I decided to get the shot rather than trying to get my older immunisation records before the medical results would be sent to the embassy.  I didn't want to have to do the whole civil surgeon thing in the US and go through another medical if it could be avoided. This might be a new requirement?  I hadn't seen it on any other posts or information online or from the DoS.  So - giving a heads up to anyone else to make sure that you can evidence this to avoid an extra jab.  I have had all my vaccinations but my doctor didn't give me the full records.  You don't need the other age appropriate jabs - but you might need your entire history of Tetanus (Td/Tdap).

I don't think Paul has received a letter from the NVC either. I got a letter from the embassy though..

The receptionists at Doctors surgery are the worst! I was told 3-4 weeks just for a summary, so I wrote a letter to the doctor saying it was urgent. I went back the next day and tried to escalate the situation - a different receptionist said I could collect the medical summary/vaccination record the next day.

I received my letter from the embassy on Friday (my case changed to 'ready' on the 22nd). But I was unable to schedule the interview, so I emailed them and they replied the next day saying the case should have been updated. I just booked my appointment for Friday 7th April! My medical is this Friday. Exciting times! Now to get the Affidavit sent to me!

I was just coming back into the thread for a wee browse - and then wondered when your interview date was/is - kept scrolling until I found this. So we seem to be staggered a week or two apart - I am this Friday, then @fishe23a on the 30th (or is it the 31st March) and then you are on the 7th April... oh I'm sure we will all be able to breathe a little easier when those passports have the visas in them and are back in our hands!

Oh! You and @fishe23a both!  What time is your interview?  I think you might be on the same day !

You can bet I will be posting on here - after calling Aaron, and posting on Facebook and messaging my sister... :)

if you don't hear from me, you'll know something went ....  I'm not even considering that could possibly happen...

It looks as though I'll be bouncing around London on my own for an hour afterwards - that's the downside of doing this solo.  I have just been discussing with Aaron where I might go to calm down afterwards...

Yes, my fiancée's interview is also the 30th, though at 1:00 PM. We figured that would give us time in the morning (we are interminably late when we are on vacation together) and there isn't a chance we will be running around in a panic trying to get there on time! We didn't plan to originally go the interview together - I have had that week booked for a long time to come to England and properly meet her family (cue all of the anxiety, however welcome the chance is to meet them). And then when she was able to schedule, the 30th happened to be available - the only available date over the week I was visiting. So she chose that day so I would be able to be there with her - I know they'll let me into the interview area for waiting, but probably not allow me at the actual interview.

Good luck Friday, @Chelleyandaaron! I will send good thoughts your way Thursday evening and I can't wait to hear about how it went afterward. So nervewracking...but this part is almost over! We also cannot wait until that visa is in her passport and she has the permission & freedom to just come here!!

London was much much easier than i was fearing. The whole process took around 40 minutes for me, however unlike other reviews i was not allowed in early. I was asked to come back no more than 15 minutes before hand. There will probably be a large group of people in front of the embassy, ignore them all and go straight to the blue tent and you will go ahead of them because it's an Immigrant visa.

Interview was simple, handed all my documents over including I134, took a seat then about 20 minutes later i was called again and asked: How did we meet and if i had met his family. That was it.

Good luck to all who have upcoming interviews!
