We have just called NVC and we got our LND number - so on to booking the medical!

Medical booked for the 6th March!  Now to keep my fingers crossed that the police check doesn't have any hold-ups - should be here in the next week.

And onto booking my MMR jab at the surgery, flu jab at Boots and getting a letter and vaccination history from my doctor.

What was the earliest date they could give you for the medical?

Hi there! The NVC's number to call to check on non-immigrant visa case numbers is 1-603-334-0888. All you need to have ready is your receipt number (WAC17900*****), state you are looking to find out if your approved I-129F has yet been received or given a case number. They are open from 7 am to 12 midnight M-F US East Coast time. I find that if I call when it is around 11 pm on the east coast, it's pretty quiet - I never wait longer than 1-2 minutes on hold that time of night to talk with someone.

 

Edited to add: That being said, I"m on the west coast - so for me, that's only 8 at night for me! But during regular daytime hours, you can be on hold for a long time.

Ahh that's so exciting!! Congratulations! We got our NOA-2 8 days after you - so we are hoping for case number end of next week. You're giving me hope that my fiancée could have her medical scheduled for as soon as March 13th, which seems so sudden! Good luck with the police report, I hear most folks get it within about 6 days even if they didn't order expedited shipping. Wishing you well with all your vaccines - no fun!

Also, for some reason, VJ won't let me edit my last post again to add something else - someone in the November 2016 filers form noted that you should ask the NVC for the following things as you will need them for your visa application - not just the case number:

 

1. Case number

2. Invoice number

3. Beneficiary number

4. Make sure NVC has beneficiary's current email on file

5. Update mailing address if the beneficiary has moved since your application was submitted

I asked them for dates - and they asked me when I was hoping to have the medical - I asked for a Friday or Monday in early March - and they offered me the 3rd - that's two weeks tomorrow!  I couldn't make the appointment at the time they offered so they offered me the following Monday.  It seems as though they might have a few appointments very soon.  if you have your police report and all your other paerwork (vaccinations etc) then you might be able to get a really quick appointment.  they then sent me an email with a list of things I need to bring with me and other information.  On the list it says that I need to bring evidence of my case number - a letter from the embassy.  I'm hoping it will be here in time - but I'm not going to worry - I'm guessing they want to be certain that you have  a case number.

Thank you!  I have the case number and the invoice number - but not the beneficiary number.  I guess I could email them and ask for that? 

 

I have completed my ds-160 and it didn't ask for any of those details - only the case number.

Interesting! I wonder if Sedona & Thomas needed it for something related specifically to Africa or something? Good to know!

Ah I wish I'd seen this before he got through to them! I'll have to try and get the invoice number and beneficiary number. I booked my medical for the 3rd March.

I have a question I hope someone can assist me with.

 

whilst waiting for our approval I am staying with my mum. She is selling her house and looking to rent until she finds the right next home.

 

my question is if the house sells and she moves to a new place. How will that affect my i-129f cause my address will have changed, I can't find anything online only info on the petitioner changing address :/

 

getting a little worried its going to delay us now.

I nearly took a 3rd March appointment - but it was too early in the day for me (8.50am)!

 

I think the beneficiary number is on the NOA2 notice - there is a number on there.  I don't think I needed the invoice number for the ds-160 so I'm not sure what that is for - it might be on the NVC letter - which should hopefully be with your fiance in the next week or ten days...

don't worry - from what I have seen on these forums you just call and tell them your change of address.  (the embassy or NVC I guess).  there seem to be links to put a new address in various places.  Don't fret - it won't hold you up.

Hi Guys, Just thought i would update...

 

Today I had my medical in London, I flew there and back today from Belfast and got to Knightsbridge an hour early. They said they could see me then, asked me to provide a urine sample and to complete a Yes or No medical questionnaire, i.e. mental health, smoking etc. I then saw the first doctor for my physical, checked the questionnaire, my height & weight, checked eyes, ears etc and my abdomen area then took a blood sample. I waited a bit then saw the second doctor for my chest xray, asked to remove all upper clothing and put on a gown for a basic chest xray. Lastly, i spoke with a nurse briefly regarding my vaccines and she confirmed i have everything up to date and did not require anything further. 

 

Overall, the staff were lovely, it took around 1 hour or so. Honestly nothing to be worried about
