Hello friends!

I have a question, I entered in US as K-1 holder, married my beloved man and sent AOS package. My husband is self-employed and he recently got a lot of free time that he wants to spend working as employee. I am wondering, can that be a problem if he would have tax transcripts as a self-employed and also, as employed?

Also, my mother's husband getting food stamps and in one of the employment's form they asked about it "does anyone among you family members getting food stamps"? and he filled out her name and address, can this cause any problems?

Both self-employed and employed should be fine, since he is both. If you only had to choose one, I'd go for the one that brings in the most income.

No it doesn't matter if your mother in law gets food stamps. Employers only ask that question because if some potential employees receive benefits due to their income amount, the company could be eligible for a tax break if they hire that person.

No worries!

Your husband would only answer yes if he or his mother filed a tax return claiming the other as a dependent. Otherwise, he should have answered no.
