Hello friends!

I would really appreciate your opinion on this.

I will go to the interview for the adjustment of status very soon.

I got married in October 2015, a month before my OPT expired and one month after being notified that I hadn't been picked in the H1B visa lottery.

My wife and I had always thought of getting married one day but given the circumstances at that time, we did it prematurely.

With that being said, do you think it is wise to explain all this to the interviewer in case a question like "when and why did you decide to get married ?" is asked?

Please advise.

Thanks.

SZ

While your circumstances are common, I would not say "prematurely", and instead just focus on that you wanted to get married anyways.
