Form I-485. Application to register, K1 Expiration??

Hey there!

I am in the process of filling out my husbands application, and while he came on the K1 visa and that technically expired when we got married, what would the correct response be on the form when they ask for the current status and when it expires??

I put exactly the date that stated on the Visa which already expired when I mailed I485. As long as you get married b4 the expired date then he will be fine

VIsa k1 holder. I put that n my forms.

The visa has nothing to do with status. The status is governed by your I-94 and the status and date your status expires are on your I-94. Your marriage does not affect your status.

Hi! I put there the expiration as based on my I 94 which is 90 days from POE.

The form actually asked current USCIS Status, which is K1 (as we admitted) based on passport stamp. That is valid for 90 days.

I am also in the process of doing the forms

The example forms are very helpful and are what my wife and I used. Put K1 Visa Holder in the Current Status and use the expiration date of the I94 in the next box.
