Affidavits from Friends and Family

Hi,

My husband resides in the UK and is wanting to get affidavits from friends completed. The notaries, or solicitors in the U.K. want to charge an astronomical amount for their service. Does anyone know where he could go, or advise if it is actually a requirement for these affidavits to be notarized. I am in the USA so I can, and will do my affidavits here cheaply, or even free, but in the UK its over $100

Such affidavits are not required to be notarized and carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of a file. If your husband has not yet had his friends write these, don't bother. Instead focus on submitting evidence of time spent together in-person, that is your strongest evidence.

Don't bother writing affidavits, or don't bother notarizing them? I'm a little worried about leaving that out. We have lots of proof of our time together but financial mingling of resources are in the works slowly.

The affidavits aren't worth it if you have plenty of other evidence. I think these carry very little weight and aren't the best evidence to use.

They are not required and if one choses to include them, they are not required to be notarized. Additionaly, financial comingling of resources is also not required and would not be expected of a couple living apart in separate countries.

Since you have lots of evidence (not proof; the only thing that proves your a married couple is your marriage certficate, everything else is evidence of your bona fides) focus on that.
