Hello Everyone,

Well I just got off the phone with USCIS and it was surprisingly quick!

I'm AOS from a K1 and my EAD/AP has been pending for 83 days(from received date)/78 from Notice date. So as per https://www.uscis.gov/forms/tip-sheet-employment-authorization-applications-pending-more-75-days I called them. Here is a step by step guide of my call.

Called 1-800-375-5283

Press 1 - For English

Press 2 - For Questions about your submission

Press 1 - For Having a receipt number (have your NOA ready!)

--------Use alpha numeric numbers on phone, so if your receipt number starts with MSC####### punch in 6-7-2 (then the rest of the numbers)

--------It reads off the number you entered

Press 1 - if number is correct

Press 3- To talk to Customer Service an report a problem with your case

An Agent will come on the line (I didn't have to wait) they give you their name and agent number

He asked for my receipt number, and if it was my first call (it was), then asked me why I was calling. I said,

"On your website it said that if my Employment Authorization was pending for more than 75 days that I should call and ask for an Approaching Regulator Time frame service request to be created"

He asked if I was the applicant, which I was.

The agent then asked me a couple questions if my case was for Deferred Action, or other visas. He asked me how I was applying for my EAD and I said I'm adjusting status from a K1 Visa. He asked for my zip code, Alien number, birthday, mailing address, email, phone number. All this info (minus phone and email is on your NOA)

Then he gave me a referral number for the request. I asked him again for his agent number as I didn't write it down (It's always good to ask because it makes them responsible for the things they tell you, calling as saying that agent # so and so said this is more powerful than "some guy" told me)

He told me that it could take 15-30 days for the request to be processed, but he said that it often won't take that long, but that's the time they request I wait before calling back.

I thanked him and then hung up. Overall it was fast and straightforward.

Now to wait. (madly keeps refreshing my case status webpage)
