Not just Phil but also in Thailand. Just about everywhere now. I gotta tell you there is no way I will ever use a taxi again when overseas. I hate the bartering and the flirting with my girl while they are on the phone and driving like an idiot in their disgusting car. Uber is flat fees and they can't refuse to take you where you want to go. The rating system means they have to maintain a standard in the way they drive and how they care for their car. Its really a no lose situation other than the waiting which has never been an issue for us.

One more thing.....they recently started allowing uber passengers to pay with cash in PI. That is something unique to PI as it is not allowed here in the states. I personally like the fact that its all on my card.

Here is one warning however and we learned this the hard way. If you have a pretty gf or wife and she uses uber on her phone you can and will get the driver calling and texting her to go out with him. My fiancé started using it after my first visit and it was a nightmare. Every single time she used it they would call and text. I don't mean sometimes I mean every single time. The worst part is they know where you live and your phone number. What we do now is I actually order the uber from here in the states and I can watch on the app to make sure she got there safely. If they want to ask me out then they can. Their chances are better with me than with her lol. Here in the US the calls and texts are routed through a different number to avoid these types of problems.

I meant to mention this little tip before but forgot. UBER is your friend in Phil!!!! Learn it, use it, love it!!! Cheaper, safer, cleaner, and far far lest sketchy. The cars are usually really nice also. Just plan out your travel needs because you can end up waiting for your car if its busy. Oh and I'm assuming you are in the Metro Manila area.

No. She lives in Cagayan de Oro. I am just flying into, then right back out of Manila. I will not even be leaving the airport. We will spend the first few days in Davao, then the rest of the time in CdO. She has her own car, so taxis are not going to be an issue.

I noticed from your picture that you were likely in LE. It sounds like you should be ok but then again all the rest of us that have been duped said the same thing Im sure. The only thing that stands out about your story is that she already has a friend here in the US. That would worry me a bit. We have an agreement that there won't be any filipinos involved in our lives except for family once she gets here. A lot of times it creates huge problems. It sounds like you are going in with open eyes so thats really good. With that said I'd still hire someone over there. LOL. Good luck to you both.

On another note it seems to me that filing during the fall/winter months gets faster results. Maybe less petitions at that time? I could be wrong but that was my observation.

Yup. I am no longer a cop, but I still work for the Department.

As for the PI friend here, she and her husband and I are very good friends. We all spend a lot of time together and our kids are friends as well. I have seen how happy they are as a couple, so one day I asked her if she had any friends like her back home that I could meet. She introduced me to Yolanda. I also have a lot of PI friends here. There is a very big PI community here in the Jacksonville area. A few of them have jumped in our Skype calls with me so they can get to know her. They will help her 'transition' to life here in The South. She was concerned about leaving her family and everything she knows to move to an alien environment. I think it will really help having friends here that have already gone thru the transition. She has never been outside the PI, and has barely been off of Mindanao.

You both agreed that there will be no Filipino when she gets to US? What will you do to her a prisoner? ? Not all Filipinos are bad. If I am your fiance I will not get married with a guy like you. You shoulf be the one to give her a good life there. Make sure she will be fine and won't be bored because it's not jer home country and she don't know anyone there. If you are not at home where she will run if she have a problem? I read a lot of your comments even to other topic and it seem you have a problem to Filipina. If you are oke of those foreigners that got fooled then I am sorry to hear that but sometimes foreigners have a mistakes too not just filipina. Maybe you not so pleasant and nice that's why women fooled you.

There are a lot of foreigners that married to good filipina. They are all aware of scammers but they still want to try they like just like you did.

Its funny that you think that I am the one that mandated this. Im not. It was her idea. I agreed with her. Here is why. She has a cousin in Nevada. She calls the cousin and said she should be in the US soon. Cousin says omg thats great and when you get if you get tired of the husband dont worrry because you can find a better one with more money easily. That was all she needed to hear. Right away she said she doesnt want amy other filipinas around us when she gets here. My fiance is smart. She knows the game and she knows the style. While I might be easily fooled...she is not.

Example two is one of my closest friends who is also married to a filipina. In fact he is the person that suggest I look in the philippines. His wife is a good person. Always smiling and happy, never complains, loves my friend very much. She has been here for about 4 years. Her first comment to my fiance was to stay away from the filipinas here. All of the ones she has met are all cheating on their husbands. Those arent my words. Those are the words of your kababayan. Yes you are right there are good filipinas. There are good ones that came here to be with their husbands. Not to hang out with bad ones.

Its my job to give her a good life here? Lmao. Thats funny. Its my job to be a good husband. If I do my job then we will make a good life together. Marriage isnt one person making a good life for someone else. Its about making a good life for each other. You want to know what shes most excited about when she gets here? Getting a job, working on our garden, and decorating our house that we bought together. Not going clubbing with the other filipinas. Not going shopping with my credit card. Not showing off on facebook.

In typical filipina style you defend the scammer by saying oh you probably deserved it. Lol. My fiance reads all of the scammer stories here and there are more than i want to count. Never once did she defend the scammer by saying he probably deserved it. At least we agree on one thing. You wouldnt marry me and i damn sure wouldnt marry you. Red flag if i ever saw one.

I am very active with my daughter's school and her karate classes. Many of the other mothers are from the PI. They are all typical "soccer mom" type of Filipinas. They are dedicated to their kids and husbands. They are all about family. We have all become friends and I have gotten to know them and their families quite well. My friend that introduced us is from my church. I am very particular about who I spend my time with, and Yolanda is as well. I have chatted on Skype with her friends and some of her family. Like me, she has no patience for people who run around on cheat, or just want to play games to see what they can get from people.

From the sounds of things I believe you have a winner. You will feel like your in heaven once your together. Filipina's are nothing like western woman.

I think you have this relationship on a steady course.

And thats one reason you guys are still going strong I'm sure.

The fact is that if you came here for the right reasons then you don't need anyone besides your significant other. You will make new friends, start a new family, create a new life but all of it has to be done together as a team. Anything or anyone that isn't good for the marriage can't be allowed. Its so simple its stupid. Like her I will also have to turn my back on some of the people in my life because its counterproductive to what we are trying to build.

BTW where the hell is my NOA2? hahaha

She keeps asking when she will be able to start work. I do not really know. Let's say that everything goes well and she comes here and we get married right away. Everything is Happy Happy Joy Joy. How long after that will she be able to get a work permit, or SSAN, or whatever is required to go to work? She is a paralegal and hates the idea of just sitting at home all day.
