Hi There,

My fiancee and I received our NOA2 for our K-1 Application last week, so we are preparing for the next phase and I have a few questions.

A quick intro to our situation, I am the beneficiary and currently in the USA (helping fiancee move into our new home and getting ready for life in the US), so would be flying home to get the next phase done.

I have been searching through topics for answers but a lot of them are a couple of years old so just thought I'd fire the question out here.

How long should I expect to be in the UK?

I will do everything I can from the US but will obviously need to go home for the medical and interview, so I am just hoping to get an idea of how long I can expect to be there.

Thanks!

They should sent a appointment letter and normally you have 10 days between the medical and interview..

K-1s in London book their own interview appointments through an online system. They also book their own medical. OP, you need to allow at least a week between the two because Knightsbridge send the medical results to the embassy and they won't interview you without them. Some countries allow the applicants to take the results themselves to the interview. But not London. So you need to allow time for the courier to transport them from A to B.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

No. Not the K1 procedure in London.

Six weeks. Who knows for sure really? Will you require follow up at GP before they send your medical on. Do you have your police certificate? Immunization records? Shots? All documents?

We'll have all documents in order, all immunization records sorted. Even then would you assume 6 weeks? I was under the impression I could schedule the medical for a week or so prior to the interview and then it would be a few days. (Assuming everything is in order of course).

Totally random answer. I don't know.

Good luck. Hope you find available openings exactly when you want them. Passport usually comes back 7-10 days after interview unless something weird happen.

Thing is the availability difference between the doctors and the embassy is quite large! You can book a medical for next week probably, without an issue. However, for the interview, at the moment the earliest dates are September. You could always book the medical, and then rebook if necessary once you can see when you can book your interview?
