CEAC Status Update Date

Hello,

I have been checking every few days on the CEAC website for any clue as to what my case status is. The window that pops up has always said "Ready" since the case was forwarded from the NVC and the date for "status updated date" was the date forwarded from NVC, 7-14-2016.

My question is, today when I looked at the website the "status updated date" had changed from 7-14 to 7-26 and still says "Ready". Does that mean the packet 3 is on the way?

Hi Steve,

What will happen next is your status will switch from "Ready" to "Administrative Processing". You can follow my timeline as I am about the same stage as you in the process. Mine just switched today to "Administrative Processing".

Where are you guys seeing the date it is touched? My case from ceac site only shows a pop up window that says interview date set but doesnt show what the interview date is nor any date at all?

Hi,

What they are referring to is when you go to the Visa Tracking tool on the CEAC website and plug in your case number, there is a window that pops up with the status. On that window near the top there is "Status Update Date:". People are watching this date, and they can see it changing. Based on this date changing, they are theorizing that it must mean that some work was done on their case -- ie that their case was "touched."

It's possible that the window contains different information depending on which embassy you are going through.

I noticed you said you are in "Interview Date Set" state but I also noticed your timeline doesn't reflect that you've completed the NVC stage. To help others and to make this Visa Journey system more accurate, it would be good if you could take a moment to update your timeline. The more real world data the VJ system has, the more accurately it can help people predict when they will get through the process.

Neal, thanks for the reply.

I checked out your timeline and you guys are right on our heals. Let's hope we both get some good news on getting a packet 3 and interview soon. As I'm sure you know, this waiting game is getting a little old.

Take care,

-Steve and Guiying

Hi Steve,

We were able to make an appointment for August 11th at the embassy before receiving Packet 3. We did finally receive Packet 3 on July 30th China time, about 2 days after we were able to make the interview appointment. Next step: find a good place for her to stay in Guangzhou, medical exam, and immunizations!

Good luck to you Steve.
