Birth certificates of the children listed on n-400

Hi all! I got a bit confused. The instruction for n-400 says

C. Children and Support of Dependents. Bring evidence that all of the children listed on your Form N-400 are
your children. Such evidence may include:
(1) Birth certificates for all children you claim, or a court order naming you as the parent;

etc.

Here is my question since they require send with N-400 all the copies of the documents they list in the section EVIDENCES

if I have to send a copy of all my children's birth certificates I listed on my n-400? Does it apply to every applicant? Even if they are not my spouse's children? I just don't quite understand the purpose. Any thoughts?

The purpose is mainly for those applying based on marriage, and who have minor children that will receive US citizenship.

Does a minor child receive the citizenship on the spot when a parent does? Then I guess I do have to send a copy of the birth certificate. I know that minor children derive citizenship if a parent gets naturalized before the child reaches 18 but how does it work paper-wise for the child? Do they issue any paper to make it easier to get the passport for the child at the passport office?

Yes. After the parent has naturalized, the parent can apply for N-600 to receive a certificate of citizenship for the child, or the parent can apply for a passport for the child and that serves as proof of US citizenship.

I believe they only need YOUR naturalization certificate, but someone more knowledgeable should comment.

Thank you but my question still is not quite answered. I still don't understand why they need the children's birth certificates to support my n-400 application now. Not a problem for me to send but don't want to stuff my package with bunch of papers they would not need at the moment. The passport office is not connected with USCIS I believe, and they will require all those papers again related to minors (not only my proof of citizenship but more than that, they have it listed on their website as well). Also, n-600 is a separate process.

If they ask for it in the form, I don't know why you would question it. If you have to send copies again for separate applications (n-600 or passport), then so be it.

I don't know that's why asking and not questioning, maybe someone who sent knows whether it's needed or might be needed only for those who have common kids.

n-600 and the passport application will require it all over again. 100%. It is the same as to say...I won't send marriage certificates, divorce degrees and other papers to support my n-400 as I already sent it for my CR/IR visa or green card application.

I read the instructions and I don't believe you need you need to send them with your application. However you should bring the birth certificates of all the children listed on your N-400 with you to the interview.
