So we received this letter today from NVC about our petition. What does it mean? I mean I read it but i'm confused as to what they actually need. Can someone please explain to me what they understand from this letter? I'm dazed!

______CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS:_________________________________

When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the address provided.

______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

We reviewed the Affidavit of Support documentation you sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). According to the current poverty guidelines, it does not appear you or any of your sponsors meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrant(s) for this petition. To avoid delays, you may have an additional sponsor complete an Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) and provide it to the intending immigrant to submit at their interview. At that time, a consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement.

To view the current poverty guidelines, go to http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864P.pdf. For tips on completing Form I-864, go to

http://www.uscis.gov/forms/tips-filing-form-i-864-affidavit-support-under-section-213a-ina

We reviewed your I-864, I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A Affidavit of Support form and supporting financial documents. While we will schedule your case for an interview, either your Affidavit of Support was incomplete, some of your supporting documents were missing, or both. This could affect the Consular Officer's ability to make a decision on your case.

On the attached Affidavit of Support Assessment Letter, we have put an "X" by each item you need to correct. Go to the Department of State's website at http://nvc.state.gov/aos and follow the instructions for the Affidavit of Support form(s).

If your Affidavit of Support form(s) needs correction:

  • Fill out a new form(s) online.

  • Print, sign and send the original form(s) to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the

visa interview. Do not send the updated form(s) to the NVC.

If we are missing required supporting documents:

Send the missing documents to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the visa

interview. Do not send the documents to the NVC.

The NVC will send your case to the processing U.S. Embassy or Consulate General. Please make sure that the documents you take to your interview are in the correct order and stapled together, as stated in the I-864 Important Notice instructions.

______10 - NIGERIA POLICE CERTIFICATE:_____________________________

NIGERIA: Available, including for those living abroad. The Nigerian police force no longer accepts requests made through the American Embassy. Requests should be addressed to The Deputy Inspector General, Criminal Investigation Department, Nigerian Police Force, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria. Fee should be in the form of an international bank draft payable to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Fingerprint Section, Nigerian Police Force.

The applicant's letter must state full name, place and date of birth, nationality, passport number, date and place of issuance (for current passport or passport used during applicant's stay in Nigeria), exact periods of residence in Nigeria and addresses where applicant resided. Each applicant 16 years of age and over must enclose (1) a copy of the first three data pages of his or her passport, (2) the pages containing Nigerian visas, entry and departure stamps and (3) a complete set of fingerprints taken by the police in the district where the applicant resides.

Form I-864EZ: Assessment Letter for _____PXXXX______________________________

The National Visa Center (NVC) recently reviewed your I-864EZ Affidavit of Support form. The Affidavit of Support form had one or more sections with missing or incorrect information or was missing required supporting documents, or both.

Please review the instructions below to complete a new I-864EZ Affidavit of Support form or to obtain the missing supporting documents. Send the corrected I-864EZ Affidavit of Support form or original documents that are missing to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the immigrant visa interview. Failure to take the original documents to the visa interview can cause processing delays. The Consular Officer will review the corrected form and documents at the time of the interview.

You do not need to contact the NVC at this time. Also, do not send an updated I-864EZ Affidavit of Support form or documents to the NVC. After we schedule the immigrant visa interview, we will send you an appointment letter.

If you need a new I-864EZ Affidavit of Support form, you can find it at uscis.gov/forms. \pard[x] In Part 4, Sponsor's Household Size, please correct the following...

Fix the household size number it's incorrect.

Most people include immigrate twice.

So on your I-864 ez what is your household size total?

That's all that's check.

Good news is you have a case complete and will be put in the interview queue.

Hi,

Thank you for replying. I had to also call them few minutes ago to avoid making mistakes and they confirmed that they only need his police certificate. I already sent that out on Saturday and the post marked it delivered today. So does that mean they will review that before scheduling for interview?

Hi there! Thank you for the elaborate answer. I will get to it. Now will it be safe to have a sponsor as a backup? Just in case?

If you use a joint sponsor you need to use I-864 not I-864EZ.

As for the police certificate they will review that they have it before you get a case complete. You need a case complete before you can get an interview.
