Hello everyone, i have questions about tourist visa requirements. I am planning to get my sister a tourists visa to come visit me here in US, she's in the philippines right now. The problem i have is that she dont own any properties, nor a regular job since i am the one that supporting her since then. But she has 2 kids 7 and 5 and money in the bank And then my dad had a stroke and shes the one taking care of him as well. Would this be enough proof for her to get a visa? Any help or suggestion would be really appreciated. Thank you

Very slim to none..... but you will not know until she tries.

There is no affidavit of support or anything that you can do, she has to apply on her own merit and have the CO believe that she will be coming back to the PI.

Have she travelled outside the USA before ? If she has and been to different countries that might help.

Her situation right now leans more of her staying here in the USA to support family back in the P.I.

First of all, your sister has to apply for the visa on her own. You have nothing to do with that. She can try but I would not be very hopeful. A single, unemployed woman from a high risk country traveling alone does not look good. As well as the fact that you have been supporting her from abroad. Every visitor is treated as a potential immigrant. From their point of view it may look like she is trying to immigrate/overstay and then possibly bring her children. Had she traveled before? Doing so and returning home many times can work in her favor. That fact that you seem to be footing the bill will not. Good luck to her! :)

Just by that one paragraph you wrote is good evidence that your sister is a high risk of not returning. She isn't working and relies on you for support. If she comes here and stays she would have a place to live through you and find work (even if it is under the table) to send money back home.

Here is another way of looking at it. Why else would a young Filipina with no job or assets, two kids back home, and an ailing father travel half way around the world to visa a family member who is paying for everything?

Try this... completely remove yourself from this and pretend you are an immigration officer interviewing your sister. Would you give her a visa based on her circumstances?

Let us say that your sister truly is just visiting to take a break from her tasks of taking care of your father and her kids....

Due to the circumstances she has a very slim to none chances of getting the visa.

If you have the extra money for the application then the only real way to find out is to apply.....

Just a thought, why not visit Disneyland Hongkong...still way cheaper than going here and her kids can tag along...
