Pretty sure you can't get higher than FLOTUS, POTUS, and the Vice President. But if there are some, please list them.

And unless the DNC has an underwear model, Charles in Charge, or an emergency vote to get rid of her, shouldn't be too exciting.

So you are saying Hillary is the top of the A-list for the DNC? I am amazed.

Nope, I'm talking about President and Michelle Obama. Unless you think there's something higher than #1?

I apologize, I misunderstood you initial comment. I thought you were referring to A-list candidates. You are correct, Obama and Michelle will be big names. Will they be able to get the Bernie supporters out of the arena before they speak?

I doubt it. Many celebrities are going to be there in protest. And they have the right to.

I don't champion Clinton BTW, I think Sanders would have been the way better pick. But if I'm forced to choose, I'd go with Clinton.

I think major factors are at play:

The perception by white America that " we are becoming the minority" and the feeling of loss of power and self determination that creates a sense of panic. White men have had to share power in ways that would have been inconceivable in 1960.

The stagnation of wages, the average American makes $4,000 less than they did in 2002, Trump is right about that stat.

New Technology platforms and the 24 hour news cycle...case in point I am here right now rat-holing on this topic when I could be doing something constructive

Large populations are being displaced by war, famine, drought

Trump lies like a sociopath and the media seems to be unable to break through, he creates his own microclimate of news that avoids any meaningful scrutiny and

When you catch him he always has a answer to get off the hook

Here's the thing..

John Oliver has actually said it best on the subject, including last night... Feelings.

That's the formula Trump uses for his con, and that's what he's clearly directing the head of the RNC and other powers to do. So here's how it works. If you feel something, it must be true, whether it's supported by facts or not. It becomes almost on equal with the truth, or blots out the truth. Because it becomes 'your truth'. Feelings = truth. John highlighted this really well, even summing it with a little chat Newt had with a reporter, in which he basically adamantly plays this con game with a grin when called on it. The statistics show violent crime is down in America, with exceptions in some inner cities, but Newt discounts this based on 'feelings', feelings that people feel, feelings that show it's unsafe. It becomes a truth whether true or not. This is precisely what Trump has been doing for years in his business models, especially for his university structure, his empowerment talks, his books, his propaganda videos.. all of it. Even when questioned as to his net value, he quotes a figure which he says changes.. which is based on ''feelings.. feelings which change depending on how I feel''. Feelings = truth is something that all snake oil salesman have used for decades. They sell you lemons, miracle cures, healings from god, prosperity gospels, rag mag stories and so much more. He pointed out all the times where keynote speakers used the term 'feelings' as well, and if you look you can actually find it being repeated constantly by his camp.

When you catch him on a question, it's not that he has an answer. Listen carefully to what he says.. it's never an answer. It's feelings.. and doublespeak. How do you approach or catch a con man on a question when this is the response you receive in the media? You do this by savagely revealing what he truly is. Something the media doesn't do anymore. They're not talking about the numerous active lawsuits against him, or using the outrageous things he says against him. They merely just highlight the things he says, because it gets ratings, and letting your 'feelings' sort the rest out. The media is complicit in this relationship.

Trump is tapping into White fear and hatred. Something that's been festering since 2008, and the crescendo has been reached. With Obama leaving and the prospect of a woman president looming, the GOP is in full panic mode.

As for your second part, I don't think this will work. Not because you're wrong, but because what he is, is exactly why he's in the lead in the first place. Every article and interview that's been given is met with, they're hating on him, don't believe it, or even worse, I don't care. Even when he was hit with sexual assault of a minor, no one even raised an eyebrow. I don't even think it was posted here, but folks be all about when Clinton was in office.

And there might be more, up to 3 victims as of right now. But none of that matters, because the GOP is hell bent to make the term White House mean something again.

Both of you are so reported

It was a compliment!

Oh yes, but it proves what we've been saying all along. We call her Lying Hillary, but Trump lies more than her and Sanders combined. And it doesn't matter at all, as long as he becomes president. The balance will be restored again.

It's a shame that electing a black President would have such a negative consequence.

I was disappointed when Debbie did not make the pick as VP.

Today sort of makes up for it.

Why can't it just be that we cannot stand any of Obama's policies and, even worse, his methodology of forcing those misguided policies down our throats?

Trump is certainly the anti-Obama, which is a large part of his appeal.

Why attribute everything to racism?

If Trump were truly the anti-Obama, he would be a conservative... by most measures that conservatives value he is not. Trump is for Trump.

It is clear that even if Trump is not a racist in his heart, he leverages that fear and hatred as is selling point.

Trump is certainly the anti-Obama, which is a large part of his appeal.

Why attribute everything to racism?

Because like I've said before, if Obama had Trump's credentials(along with his wife's) you, along with the rest of the GOP would be tearing him apart.

5 kids with 3 different wives? His wife was already drug and called a baby momma when they've been married for 20 years and she's an educated woman(two degrees) with well behaved kids, one of three to be FLOTUS and hold dual degrees

Wife dropped out in 10th grade AND did nude photos? Michelle being a black woman, this would have killed his chances alone

Lawsuits about defrauding Veterans AND his university being a fraud? Discrimination suits against people of color?

Bankruptcies? Plural?

Sexual assault of a minor? Three times?

Ties to the mob?

Please let me know what about that is appealing. Obama has two degrees from Columbia and Harvard. Dedicated family man. One wife, two kids. And his wife is a lawyer, and been nothing but the definition of grace and elegance.

That's what's racist about it. The GOP is pushing a man they would NEVER back if there was a white man in the white house. That's a fact, considering they've been fighting him since day one. And look at the quality of folks running for President since 2008.

Chris Rock said it best, a black man has to fly to get where the white man can walk to. This is very evident in the case of the Obamas' vs the Trumps'. I'd wager folks coming in here to say that degrees don't matter, that doing nude spreads don't matter, nothing matters just to make Trump be better than the POTUS.

No, I am looking at the bigger picture. Certainly if you take individual policies, you will find some disagreement with traditional conservatism. But his appeal is on a much broader level - anti-political correctness; belief in America's exceptionalism; support for our military and police; and a basic belief that this is a nation of laws and that illegal immigrants have no place here.

All things liberals despise.
