Name errors on official documents - what do I do

Hi,
I have done the AOS after a K-1 and have just recently received both the work authorization card and the green card. However... names differ.

On one I have all my middle names and my husband's former name (he changed his name as we got married) ; on the second I have the names we chose for ourselves, which is a single middle name and his new last name (formerly his middle name). The social security refused to change my name on my SSN card (this time my maiden name) with just the work authorization (which has the correct name) and now that we have the green card (with the wrong name!) I don't know what else to do.

Shouldn't the USCIS at least be in agreement with itself? How come I have two different names on paper?!

It's causing me issues with being recognized as a resident in my state to get a driver's licence (names don't match on bank statement with green card), with getting paid from work (same problem, nothing addressed to my name means I am not a credible individual)... I don't know what to do right now!

If anyone has been in a similar situation or knows what my next step should be, I would be very grateful.

Thank you,
B.

Double check what you had put your name on i485 and i765. The name on GC will go per i485 form and the name of EAD will go per i765 since they are handled by different departments. If the name printed on GC is not what you have on i485, then you can apply for GC replacement for free with the name you have put on that form. If the name printed on GC is what you've put on i485, then you need to pay GC replacement fee for name change.

You have to file the form i-90 where you check a reason applicable to you so that you don't have to pay a fee and provide required documents. It will take several months though to get the new card.

As mentioned on the paper mailer that the cards were attached to when you received them, if you find an error on the card, contact USCIS National Customer Service Center at !-800-375-5283. To speed service, it is mentioned on the paper mailer to include the tear-off portion of the mailer with your other forms. The tear-portion includes your A#, your MSC receipt # and your GC # for easy cross-reference. You will likely have to file a Form I-90 as previously mentioned.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
