Hi

I am about to file the Form DS260 for my parents. In the 'Work/Education/Training' part of the Form DS260, there is a question 'Have you attended any educational institutions at a secondary level or above?'

In our case my both the parents have completed the secondary level of education but unfortunately they both have lost their educational certificates. So what should we do? Can we still select 'Yes'? But my parents will not have proof to show if embassy ask for the certificates.

Also in the educational detail, they have to put start and end date of the education. and they only know the years but they don't remember the exact day and the month. It is almost 50 years ago. So what should we do?

I heard that for the green card, the applicant should at least have the secondary level of education. Is it true?

Please help. Thanking you in advance.

They don;t need their certificates, you just put the details on the form, with approximate dates; for example, they likely know that they finished school in late spring of year X.

Thanks Penguin_ie.

For sake of my knowledge, is it also true that for the green card, the applicant should at least have the secondary level of education?

hi

not for family petitions, there is no educational qualification for family petitions or spousal petitions

it is true for certain work visas or for the DV Lottery

the DS260 is only for information purposes, they won't deny a person based on education
