Hello,

I came on a F1 visa and married a USC a couple days ago. We finished the whole AOS package but i got problems with my medical. The next free appointment for my doctor is in a month but we dont want to wait that long to send the package in. The other doctor is a 3 hour drive away and I honestly would not like to drive 2 times to the doctor.

Could I send in my package and send in the medical at a later time or bring it to the interview? I thought about writing on the cover page that Ill bring the medical later to make sure they dont give us an RFE.

Thanks for your help :luv:

The Doctor needs to be certified by USCIS- Your post is reading as if you are planning on going to your regular doctor (?) They probably are not certified.

Please check this link and find a Doc that is. Set up your appt as soon as possible. It can take up to two weeks to get the report done by the doctor after your appt (each place has different procedures so ask when you set up your appt)

You can send in the packet with out the medical and you will get an RFE. You have limited time to respond with it or you will be DENIED. You can not wait until the interview. So either get it done before you mail it or mail with out it but be sure you will have it completed in time to respond to the RFE.

Please reread the instructions for Form i693 and you'll find the answer to you question.

Sorry for the confusion, no I was talking about the civil surgeons.

If you send a medical, not completed by a civil surgeon, you can consider that money wasted as it will not be accepted by USCIS. Based on people's experiences that I have read on this forum, they either send it (completed i693) in with the package, send it by itself to the SC processing their case (with a copy of the NOA) or wait for an rfe that tells them to take it in a sealed envelope to the interview.

I am suggesting that you search the site and read other people's experience as well.

I did and it just say to submit the document if it is required but it does not mention when. The form I-485 also says just to submit the form with the application but doesnt mention if it is okay to bring it to the interview or if I have to submit it already earlier.
