Request for Evidence (Marriage Certificate)

I filed Form I-130 for my spouse in Saudi Arabia. We received our marriage certificate through a consulate. We couldn't get a marriage certificate from the country because her father refused to do his part.

So i submitted the certificate of marriage from the consulate.

I received the attached rejection letter asking for Request for Evidence. They're asking for marriage certificate from the country where she resides.

Is there any type of waiver when this is not available in our case or anything else to submit or do?

You need a copy of your marriage certificate. There is no waiver for this.

The letter is dated May 9, 2016. The marriage certificate is required by August 4, 2016. If you don't get it to them by August 4, the case will be denied.

Also, what's a marriage certificate from the consulate? Why does the US Consulate have anything to do with marriage certificates for marriages in SA?

Please correct your profile, you did not file for an FB3 case. You filed for an CR-1 case.

It's Saudi Arabia, a woman there needs a man's approval for pretty much everything.

OP, how were you legally married if you didn't have a Saudi Arabian marriage cert or her father's approval?
