Our interview was earlier today at 11:15 but we got there around 10:10am and were sitting in the sitting room by 10:15am. At 10:45am, we were called in.

She asked us to raise our right hand and take an oath to tell the truth. After that, she asked just a few questions like if this was our first marriage, if we have any children, if i were ever arrested or deported, etc. While she was perusing through our paper and trying to organize everything in the folder, she asked a few more questions like my birthday, my social security number, my parents' names. She asked my husband his birthday and ssn also. She also asked for proof of joint living so we gave her a pile of bank statements and 3 leases.

The whole thing was very informal and we were joking around most of the time and the interview became longer because we started talking about immigration laws, visa wait time, etc. As we were discussing immigration laws , I saw her stamping my passport which gave me a big smile. After we finished our chit chat, she told us we were approved, asked for my EAD and told me that the stamp will act as my work permit and travel permit. She said to expect the card in the mail in 6-12 months (does it really take this long?). I was a bit disappointed she didn't ask to see any pictures since I brought with us hundreds of pictures. I offered to show her some but she said she was running out of time.

We were in her office for a total of 30 minutes but I think only 10 minutes of it were interview related and the other 20 were just chit chat.

Thanks everyone and good luck with your journey!

Congrats on the approval and not sure of timeline for getting your card. I know most are within weeks unless they have security checks pending. Good luck.

I am pretty sure my background check has come back or else I don't think she would stamp my passport. Can someone confirm this? Thank you! I am a bit disappointed that this whole thing was so anti-climactic. :)

Yeah, I hope you are both right about the green card receipt time. We are moving out of our current apartment by the mid April and would like to get my card before then... I don't want to have to deal with lost green card and all that hassle. Thank you all again. For those who are worried about their upcoming interview, if your marriage is legitimate, just relax... I worried way too much and couldn't really eat for the past 2 days. If I had only known how easy it was going to be... :)

Yes, and I noticed that your package was returned. Mine was also returned cause we forgot to sign one of the checks. I know you will have a successful interview, but I am sending you lots of luck anyway even though you won't need it. :)

It seems like most people receive their greencard within a month, usually sooner. I've seen posts before where people were told it could take months. My guess is that since it used to take months some offices just tell you it could take months as that's what they are used to from the past. I would think your background check was complete because they would tell you if it was still pending and they would not have stamped your passport.

Congratulations!
