Thiel: Fake Culture Wars Only Distract Us From Our Economic Decline

Paypal founder and Silicon Valley entrepreneur Peter Thiel spoke on the fourth night of the 2016 Republican National Convention.

"I am proud to be gay. I am proud to be a Republican. But most of all I am proud to be an American," he said.

“I don’t pretend to agree with every plank in our party’s platform. But fake culture wars only distract us from our economic decline," he said. "When I was a kid, the great debate was about how to defeat the Soviet Union. And we won. Now we are told that the great debate is about who gets to use which bathroom. This is a distraction from our real problems. Who cares?"

Thiel cared so much he launched a personal vendetta to destroy a media company regarding his behaviour, a sex tape, and much more. If no one cares, he sure did care a lot. He stood on that stage and informed his cheering crowd he was proud to be gay (even though his behaviour in the past hasn't reflected that), the same stage where someone earlier said gays needed to be cured and were going to hell, also with a cheering crowd.

Fake culture wars indeed.

Good gawd man, there's no time to debate bathrooms, gotta get Drumpf elected so we can help our allies quit being such deadbeats, build a wall to keep the darkies out (and pesky Hispanic misquitos too,) put the clamp down on Freedom of Religion and support the only important Constitutional Right having guns.

I think it's nice that in 2016 Gay Republicans are comfortable coming out of the closet though. Progress!
