Does anyone know what they actually do when they are reviewing the I-129F packet as VSC? Do they do any kind of checks there or anything?

Aww Janet, I was hoping to come on here and you would be all happy with me, but at least we know it's probably the same person working on your case and steven's. I got my NOA2 yesterday, didnt actually know as I was tired of checking the status update but my fiancee called me this morning to give me the good news. I was actually short of words, u know when u expecting something and when it comes but all the emotions just ain't there. Well am glad that part is sorted, so here we come London! Goodluck to everyone waiting and thanks for all your support, am gonna be asking a lot more questions now....fo'sure!

Ugh. I just got the email for an RFE.

I feel bad that you had to wait 13 days for them to decide to notify you of the REF. Hopefully the snail mail request will come real soon. My last touch was April 10 but now I have some kind of a timeframe of what to expect. I think I would prefer a REF just to get things moving again as long as it is not a difficult one where I need more info from Ming in China. I understand that when they receive what they request approval usually comes just a day or so later. Please let us know what the REF was for. I hope it is a easy one.

Email Janet, guess the written request will arrive in a few days? Anybody know how long it takes from RFE email to RFE snail mail?

I got my RFE email on April 07 and the snail mail was received on April 12th. They wanted to get a copy of Final Divorce Decree that is not appealable (it was already included in the initial submission). I went to the courthouse and got an original decree that is signed and exemplified by the Judge and the County Clerk. I mailed the RFE back on April 13th and hope that this will satisfy them.

I also sent a copy of my final divorce so I'm not sure that that is what they want. I'm really not sure what it could be. I didn't have a long form birth cert for myself because frankly I didn't know they existed, I've always had the same birth cerficate so I never knew of anything else, so that could be it. Nor did I sent copies of my passport, you would think they could look up your SS# to see if you are a citizen or not? Stupid.

Anyway, waiting to find out what it is.

Got it today, they want me to prove I am myself (lol) - that my maiden name and my married name are the same person so I am going to send them a copy of my marriage licenses ay carrumba! Mailing it out today!

It will not take that long. My case was approved a week after they received my RFE. You should hear something from VSC very soon.

Vic, have you checked status of your case # on the USCIC website? You should be watching that for date changes on your case to see if it is being "touched".

Yes, I check the status each day, it says Application received and pending. I call last week, they say it is in normal proceeding time. The last update March 19.
