Greetings everybody,

I had a K1 interview in mid March at the US Con of CASABLANCA. Interview went smooth but very long, at the end of it I was requested to submit additional documents (education related) and my passport was kept with them, I also received a white sort of flyer which has some stuff about my rights as immigrant, I was also handed a white paper which states that I need to submit additional docs. I did so after a week due to the hardship of obtaining those documents because all my education was abroad in 3 different countries. When I submitted the additionals I was told that I will be called by phone. It went ahead for like 40 days without any call or email. I had to travel abroad for business reasons and I requested to pick up my passport from the consulate, they approved and gave me my passport and asked me to return it to them once I come back to Morocco. After roughly 2 months I returned to Morocco and submitted my passport back to the consulate, they kept me waiting for 2 hours saying that they need to check if I need to be interviewed, but they released me saying no interview is required and they kept my passport.

My case is still under AP till today, it's been 4 months now.

I wanted to share my story with you folks and maybe has some feedback from similar experiences. Or just talk about it with people who are in the same boat, The AP boat bound to America.

Cheers and lah iyasir.

I'm also doing the k1 with casablanca. Is showing proof of education a requirement? My fiancé didn't graduate school for hardship reasons so your post concerns me. Did they tell you why you had to submit proof of education? I'm worried that our AP time might be long just from hearing other people's experiences. My fiancé has a clean record. Never got in trouble. Never married before....what are your thoughts...

Hi,

I was not given any reason due to why I was requested to submit those documents. I my self never heared of anyone that was requested education documents until I found my self in that situation haha it's funny lol.

Honestly ever case is different and I can say that it's about how you look it the evidence you presented, it's all about the officer that will interview and how much luck you have.

I was doing university in the US before, and also in Russia, I spent sometime in the US under F1, and later on I went there for business under a B1/B2, I also work abroad not in Morocco, I travel a lot and this AP is causing me huge loss in Money every day. I also have no criminal record.

I wish you luck, you might be just fine, have your documents ready and avoid getting the white paper requesting documents, if ur finance does not have any diploma, so he is fine, they won't request, just have the rest of the docs in hand, CASABLANCA tend to ask for document as an execute to put you under AP and not deny u straight in the face.

Regards.

Yes education is in science/engineering, and work is the field of Aviation/Sales. What you said about the checks is what I hear a lot from everybody, I guess my case is under the Washington clearance sort of thing.

Security checks can take a long time to adjudicate, especially since you've got a lot that they need to investigate and look into. It sucks to have to wait, but you'll get there eventually!

We had to provide proof of where he learned to speak English WHY????

it was clear we talked in English online and in emails

college transcripts he didn't have to provide

You say you attended college out of Morocco so i would guess they are doing background checks in those countries

They can ask for anything they desire, they even asked me very very personal questions back at the interview.

I used to live/work in different places in the world, so my background checks will take forever. Anyway waiting is a must...
