current leadtime for scheduling interview

We just got our NOA2 on 7/18. Per what most recommend, I'm going to start calling every day in about 2 weeks to get MNL# to schedule interview.

Is it conceivable that if I have MNL # in 2-3 weeks, that interview can occur within 30 days or less after that? Are there currently any delays in scheduling, i.e. backlog?

I'm trying to get a feel for what date to schedule a flight for my fiance once visa is in hand and CFO complete, etc.

I know many people say not to book flight until visa is in hand, but I'm wondering if its safe to book for a date between 2-3 weeks after interview with the thought that that is enough time to account for any possible delays.

K1 Visa

5-04-16 – Mailed I-129F

5-12-16 - NOA 1

7-18-16 - NOA 2

7-25-16 - Hard copy of NOA 2

8-03-16 - NVC case number assigned

8-09-16 – Consulate received

8-24-16 – Interview date @ USEM - Approved!

9-16-16 - CFO completed in Cebu

9-22-16 - P.O.E. Boston, MA

10-08-16 - Wedding!

10-29-16 - Submitted AOS with EAD/AP applications

11-02-16 - AOS package delivered to USCIS Chicago lockbox

04-24-17 - Received notification of AOS approval w/o interview

Don't book flight until you have the VISA in hand. You never know what will happen. Also send the NVC and email requesting the MNL number and as soon as it is processed you will get the email quickly.

No! No! No!

Do not book a flight unless you don't mind paying the rebooking fee. You cannot predict when she will have her visa in hand. I talk with a person today who is nearing 3 weeks and friends who interviewed the same day had their visa 1 week after interview.

And what happens if she has TB and has to do DOT for 6 months?

Just follow the process and you'll bring down the stress level.

CFO in Manila is booked out a few weeks in advance. The Embassy seems to have interview slots open within a week. St. Luke's is a nightmare, my fiance had to get a psych exam on top of what's required for health exam and immunizations, because he partied too hard once and got hospitalized for alcohol poisoning. Also, he waited 9 hours to get his immunizations.

So far it's shaping up that the Embassy interview will be the easiest part :-/
