LPR false usc claim

I am an LPR and have been for about 30 years. I stupidly made a false claim to USC on a job application and the DMV for a state ID. I need to renew my GC and am worried this will come up during the process. I understand I need to hire an attorney but first I would like to know since the renewal application does not ask if a false usc claim has been made will it come up?

Welcome to Visajourney!

For renewal of the GC it may not come up; for naturalisation or if you want to petition anyone to get a visa, it would. How long ago were those claims, and do you remember exactly what you wrote/ box you tick said? If it was long enough ago, it may have said "US citizen/ National", which would mean you could be ok....

Thank you for your response. I apparently had ticked the usc box when getting a state ID 5 years ago. On the application I put down Mexico as place of birth.
