I'm seriously worried as how a Trump win would affect our visa journey. And I'm sure those with loved ones from predominantly Muslim countries are even more concerned.

I took a quick peak at your timeline and I dont see how a change in the policies in the White House could affect your petition. I am sure you are safe in your current adjustment

I think you do have a valid concern on behalf of family members coming from "Muslim" countries as a change in presidency could have a major impact on how laws are administered. A Trump Whitehouse might be able to disrupt, but not outright deny family members from migrating.

Any changes requiring a new law that would exclude certain groups of people from migrating would require commitment from Congress. There is very little chance that Trump would be able to get much support from the House or the Senate to change the law and there would be serious doubts that a change reflecting his statements would be upheld by the court.

Lyin' Ted got what he deserved. Not only did he insure he has no chance to be president in the future, he also helped unite the Republican Party. How can anyone trust him to honor any pledge he makes? Lyin' Ted could have just said he will vote for Trump, since he is a man of his word. Very foolish.

Were you expecting someone to rebut this or were you just getting it out of your system?

Ted went up a few notches on my ladder with that speech the other night. [q] He stood by his principles instead of selling out like Bernie [/b]. I still wouldn't vote for Cruz, but I have a little more respect for him now.

Sorry but you are wrong. Bernie always said he would get behind who ever won the nomination, Cruz did too, but Cruz a pos, who in this case might have done the right thing, but I have a difficult time believing, that he did it for the right reasons.

So because he pre-warned everyone that he would eventually sell out means he didn't sell out? Mmmmm okay. His platform was to denounce the corrupt political machine and everyone involved in it. Once he lost he then did a 180 and went against every policy he ran on by supporting Clinton. If that isn't a sell out then he was a phony from the very beginning. Take your pick.

To be fair to sanders he was backed into a corner to get a speaking slot tonight. His speech tonight will determine if he is a sellout and a fraud. It will be his defining moment.

I don't think he is a sell out, he is facing political reality. He won incremental change in the delegate system and influenced the party platform. To the degree that the democrats control congress, you will see some of his reforms take hold, starting with minimum wage and banking.

You probably will not see free college tuition, but you may see college loan reform.

Politics is rarely and all of nothing proposition.

The calculus now is clear...Will Bernie supporters work to defeat the risk to our country that is immediately present in the form of Donald Trump? Or will they look back on this point in time and say "I did nothing"?

I did say rarely, in my opinion the threat from Trump is one of those moments.

What do Bernie supporters think they will have with a Trump presidency?

I get that Bernie is faced with the same lousy choice that all us voters are stuck with in Nov. But he ran his campaign on a platform that snubbed it's nose at the political machine and Wall St. Now he is throwing his support behind the one candidate that most represents what he ran against simply because she wears a "D" on her sweater. That makes him appear to be part of the machine and one of the politicians that he supposedly despised, the "I'll do anything to get elected politician". I think it will be difficult for him to be taken seriously in the future.

i don't know, i can't say i understand any bernie supporter who decides to vote for trump. maybe they weren't loved enough as children or have any number of cognitive deficiencies. but i can't vote for hillary. i might have been on track to swallow my pride and vote for her based on the 'anybody but trump' premise since bernie threw it in, but now that its been proven that bernie was right and the dnc was actively working against the best interest of their constituents i don't want anything to do with them. que sera sera and hold on to your boot straps.
