Hi there!

I applied for eTA 2 weeks ago. I am an Egyptian citizen and US permanent resident. I applied for eTA as I am traveling to Europe and have Transit in Toronto. It says on the website it takes 72 hours to get a response. I checked my status online and since a week it only says "in progress". I am a bit anxious about this long delay in taking a decision on my application. What do you think and what should I do ?

Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you!

Yeah I read that. However, on Aircanada it says travelers must have it before they board. I am confused now and want to be on the super safe side.

Do you know anyone whether personal or not could board to Canada without eTA and they did let him fly ?

Thanks

eTA is Canada specific but as Canadians we dont need it. Your question is best in this forum where other travellers can help you.

Hi there,

I would definitely reach out and contact them. I had a friend in a similar situation who is/was a Myanmar citizen and a US permanent resident. His eTA was approved in less than a day.

In a lot of cases, eTA is auto-approved by the system, so the fact you're waiting 2 weeks might mean they need more info.
