Completion of Hep B series before Visa is issued

My wife has an interview date at the Bangkok enbassy. She completed all of the required vaccinations, except the Hep B. She got the first one today, with the next one in a month followed with the last one in 6 months.

She will not have received the second one before her interview and we planned to move in about 2 months, so she would get the third in the US. Is this a problem? I would like some background before I ask the IV unit.

If your wife is between 19 and 49, Hep B is not required for her immigration process, however if she is 18 years old than Hep B is required for the immigration process.

Even the chart that the CDC provides to the Civil Surgeons says Hep B is not required for individuals aged 19 and older.

I would like a more seasoned member to respond, but using their own charts, I don't think you will have a problem.

Since Hep B is fairly common in the US, it doesn't hurt to get the shots but it's not required for immigration purposes for adults. Only MMR, Td and seasonal flu (when in season).
