Hello,

We first went to my fiancée's small town offices to get her Chinese birth cert., No marriage, and no criminal record. What we got is three hand written little paper with red stamps.

We then took these little pieces of papers to a bigger town Gong Zhen Chu to get it notarized.

What we got back in the end is three white booklets: page 1 is Chinese statement saying where she birth, page 2 is translation into english, and page 3 is statement stating that the translate is true to original document. Three books, one for birth one for no marriage and one for no criminal.

No where in the three booklets have the certify copies of the original three little pieces of Chinese hand written paper in it. We also did not get back the original three Chinese little papers back.

Is this an issue? Or if anyone has input in this?

Thanks all

-Michael

No, it's not. You might have preferred to hang on to them, but you have no other use for them. Think of it as a little inter-office memorandum.

They might have expedited getting additional white books, but, if you want additional copies, try going directly to the Gong Zheng Chu first.

Gotcha. I was wondering because I am not sure if the white book was good enough and that I need the original three little Chinese papers to turn in at the interview.

But anyhow I got the three little Chinese papers certified copies. The Gong Zhen Chu kept the originals. They said they needed it for record.

Thanks Randy.

It is a good idea to get additional copies of the Notarial Certificates, you never know when you will need one later one.
