Hi,

I applied for OPT EAD on 8th June and got my Receipt Notice I-797C on 18th June. On 8th July my case status got updated to "Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It". I Immediately opened a Service Request with USCIS on 8th July for re-delivery of the Notice to the same address mentioned on my application and to which I already received my I-797C receipt. Its been almost 10 days I am waiting for Notice.

Could anyone over here please tell me what could the "notice" letter contain? Is it a RFE document or an appointment letter or any other request from USCIS? or can I obtain the content of the notice over phone or by personally going to USCIS office so that I can prepare myself to reply them?

And my case status directly changed from Case received on 10th June to "Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It" on 8th July.

I have an full time offer and OPT start date as 15th August and I see that my application is getting stuck because of a notice which got undelivered.

I would be thankful if someone could shed some information and the possible scenario or guide me through the next steps.

Thanks

I have the same problem, I received acceptance notice on June 16th. The I-797 was returned to USCIS because the postman could not deliver it!

On July 7th I emailed lockbox to ask for send it again. It is been 39 days, I have not hear anything back from the USCIS guys!

Any advice?

Unfortunately, once a notice is returned by the post office USCIS simply holds onto it at their facility for up to 180 days or until the customer/atty of record requests it be re-sent, whichever comes first. When you contact customer service, they have no knowledge of why the post man (or woman) returned the document as undeliverable. They are simply there to assist you with getting the document re-sent. Once the request to have the document is submitted they'll provide you with a response timeframe .. if that timeframe passes and you don't hear anything or get anything, you would follow the directive given and most likely call them back. Anytime a notice is returned it is VITAL to the processing of your case for you to take action on having the notice re-sent to you. It is likely time sensitive. Case status online will provide you with details concerning how to complete the request to have the notice sent back to you or how to contact customer service.
