K1 Visa approved but annotation "PET EXTENDED TO OCT2016"

Hi All,

I finally got my passport back today and got my K1 visa approved with expiration date DEC2016.

However, on the annotation section it states "PET EXTENDED TO: OCT2016"

Please what does this mean because our plans is to finally arrive in the US in NOV2016.

Does this affect my application for adjustment of status in the long run?

I need an urgent response please fellas.

It probably just means that your i-129f petition was extended. The petition is usually only valid for four months from the approval date. It's your visa date that is the important date, not the petition date.

But i'm planning on doing my court wedding in Nov and applying for Adjustment of Status thereafter also.

Does the expiration of the petition affect the application for AOS.

Can anyone please help in confirming if the expiration of the i-129f affects the change of status application?

My i-129f expires Oct 28th, my ticket to the US is on the 16th Nov and the K1 visa expires 11th Dec

Your petition is now unimportant. Enter the U.S. (as you've planned) before your K-1 visa expires. Upon entry, the visa is used up and is "dead." Your I-94 will then control your status. There's no formal deadline to apply for Adjustment of Status (your first green card), but you should do so as soon as you possibly can after your marriage in the U.S.

This is also my concern. Our I129k is only valid aug 26 to dec 25, 2016. My fiancee has his interview Nov.23 At this time waiting for my cenomar from the Pasay NSO which he processed it right away after the interview. So what will happen if he will not get his visa before Dec 25, do i need to file an extension? The releasing told him as soon as they receive my cenomar they will mail his visa. They kept his passport and he was not given a 221g form. What will i do?

No, you do not need to file for an extension. The I-129F just needs to be valid when the applicant is interviewed. After that, it's no longer important.
