From NVC to Consulate

does it usually take the full 8 weeks between case completion and arriving at the consulate in montreal? i searched timelines but there's not much info there for recent cases. it's been about six weeks by now... i'm getting impatient (who knows what that's like? )

Harding your case should be at the consulate by now. Most cases leave the NVC within days to a few weeks and that is the hard copy. Once the case completes a wired transmital of your case goes to the consulate and is then matched to the hard copy. Once both copies are matched it then goes to whomever to start the next step on your processing. I would send and email and ask if the case is at the consulate and its status or call? Some consulates are very backlogged and it is taking some time for them to send out the next packets and issue interview dates. Good Luck.

Call the NVC and see when and if they send out your case to Montreal. If so call the embassy (or email them if at all possible) and see what they're saying.

Hello there,

I am also going through Montreal Consulate.

My case was completed on Dec.19th and I found out I have my interview April.19th only about 2 weeks ago.

The wait for an interview date is about 3-4months from the date your case is completed.

well, one thing i need to let you know is don't expect the case will be transfered to Montreal in 8 weeks. My case has been in NVC almost 1 year and i am told that now i am having backgroud check in Washington DC.

And nobody can tell how long it does take to get through it. So Sad!

True, but the NVC schedules interview for CR-1 in Montreal, and there's currently a backlog of cases. So right now it's taking 3-4 months between case completion and interview.

My case was completed November 17th, and my interview was March 20th.

Your interview will probably be in May or June, I'd guess. I'll cross my fingers that it's May for you.

Your case will be transferred to Montreal after they've scheduled your interview at the NVC. You'll get a letter in the mail with your date and info (packet 4) and the message at the NVC will say that your case has been sent to Montreal.
