Download the form from

https://www.uscis.gov/i-864

It's barcoded. Use adobe acrobat to fill the form and you'll be fine.

The I-864 is not barcoded. Not sure where everyone is seeing that it has a barcode. I filled out mine on the computer from the official uscis.gov website sent it off, case completed and it wasn't barcoded. Just look at the duplicate copy of what I sent to nvc and there isn't a barcode on it.

The i-864 is barcoded. You didn't see the barcode because may be your computer/software didn't recognize it. The one i filled in has the barcode.

FYI, see the attached image.

From i-864 instruction- "If you are completing this affidavit on a computer, USCIS will capture the data you enter using 2D barcode technology. This capture will ensure that the data you provide is accurately entered into USCIS systems. As you complete each data field, the 2D barcode line at the bottom of each page will shift as data is captured. Upon receipt of your affidavit, USCIS will use decoding equipment to extract the data from the affidavit. Please do not damage the 2D barcode (for example, puncture, staple, spill on, write on) as this could affect the ability of USCIS to timely process your affidavit".

Anyway there will be no problem if one doesn't see the barcode. You can even handwrite on the form and send it to NVC in which case barcode has no meaning.

To OP: So whether you see the barcode or not, just fill it in.

It is definitely barcoded. I filled out the exact same one arken did. The barcode changes as you fill the form. But like he said, it doesn't REALLY matter. It just makes embassy's job much easier and much more accurate by removing human input errors which can significantly delay the processing of your petition. You may have an outdated Acrobat Reader if you didn't see the barcode.

But i have an income in 2016 that meets the margin by just little amount. But i have some savings in my account if you calculate with the 2016 income it will be enough for proof of assets. But i am confuse will the calculate it with 2016 income or 2015 income. I hope you can help me with this. Please.
