Doesn't your wife have a student visa? They're asking for proof she's in Canada legally. She should never have given up any Canadian residence.

The letter you received should tell you what is acceptable proof of legal residence in Canada. It should say something like this:

Canadian citizens can meet this requirement with copies of Canadian passports, Canadian citizenship certificates, or birth certificates showing birth in Canada. If you are not a Canadian citizen, you must provide us with a copy of your Landed Immigrant papers or a copy of your visa that states that you may legally remain in Canada for six more months. This document must indicate six months validity from the time it is received at the NVC.

she has a valid student permit and a valid SW(student-work) visa, but when she decided to visit US for couple of months she had to vacate her home as her apartment lease was up .

She has some at her friends apartment left. After the interview she is gonna stay with her until she gets the passport with her visa and will then fly to the US

Her bank statement, sin number, government issued id all reflects her old address.

SIN shouldn't reflect any address. It's kinda like an SSN.

She needs to have a legal Canadian address. Her student visa only goes so far. She can change it to her friend's address if her things are there. They want proof shes legally residing in Canada which is essentially her student visa. Hopefully that would be enough but I dont know. If its not enough they'll redirect her case to her home country.

i think the same

they need the student visa , she has the visa till 2017 so i think she should be ok

also once we submitted our docs to the NVC , we got a RFE about the same , providing proof of Canadian status , failure to do so will result in shifting the case to her home country

we submitted her student visa copy and it was accepted and the case was complete

also The P4 letter has the document checklist and has' S ' written next to " provide legal residence proof " [ S stands for " scanned copies has been received at the NVC , show original at the interview

Should be okay then!

But as a word of warning to others, keep a residence in Canada if youre not a citizen. Even if that residence is with a friend or family member.
