NVC done, now DOS

Hi everyone!

I just received word of my MTL case number and was told it was assigned today. Is it too soon to check my status on the DOS website? I entered it but it said it was invalid so I'm guessing I have to wait a while so that DOS can enter it.

once you get the case number and the IIN number

you can get into the system , if you are not able to wait for a day or two

Sorry y'all, one more question: what do I do if I'm getting this message?

I attached something but I'm not sure if you guys can see it. My wifi is down, sorry! The message said:

"K visas are nonimmigrant visas that assist spouses or future spouses of American citizens in entering the United States. As with all nonimmigrant visa applicants, a DS-160 must be filled out in order for a consular section to process the case."

No you can't. not until your CEAC says Ready which means the case is at Montreal.

Cool thanks! And I just ignore whatever "6 steps" the NVC wants me to do, correct? My status says "at NVC"
