My wife is going to have an interview at the US Embassy in Amman Jordan in 2 months.

We're not sure if she should include her passport when she goes to drop off her documents or keep it with her until the interview.

The embassy will take the passport and quickly check the documents when she drops them off 1-2 weeks before the interview date.

you need your passport along with the appointment letter to get into the consulate on the day of the interview

I don't know if it changes by countries, but I never sent any originals. I specially wouldn't send my passport. If you feel worried, you could get your copies notarized.

Thanks all for the help. I'll ask her to have the passport in hand when she goes to drop off the documents, but keep it with her.

She should send copies and also take the original for the interview just in case.

is this the interview for the I130 form? if so, how long did it take for you guys to get an interview date? I'm in the same boat and am waiting for an interview date for my husband and me for the I130 form.
