How long it will take after responding to AOS Ref

Hi Everyone

We sent the response for the AOS REF letter on July 1 and until today we still did not hear back from them, we track the case it says we will mail you our decision. We called uscis, customer service was not any help, she said wait for a respond back.

Any idea? Any advice will be much appreciated.

Depends on the adjudicator, your RFE response etc. For me it took almost 2,5 weeks to get my approval after I send in the RFE response. However, that was for K1 - I think they say give them about 30 days to respond back with a decision.

They received our RFIE response on June 8, and we haven't heard anything yet. He did receive his EAD a few weeks later. I'm going to call this week and put in (another!) service request.

The last updated we know now that my husband file was sent for security clearance team , Do USCIS do that before issuing EAD?

We replied to our RFE in early December last year and heard nothing back until May when they sent our approval notice. We heard nothing from them in between our response being sent and the Welcome Letter arriving. No updates, not texts or emails. Nothing. It seems like every office has its own way and timeline for processing. Very difficult to predict. If you are worried, the best thing for your own peace of mind (or you can drive yourself crazy) is to just call customer service every 4 weeks or so and see if they have any information. Usually, they don't, but with the website updates being so erratic they may be able to see something that you can't. Good luck.
