Missed Biometrics Appointment as I did not receive the notice

So we have my Mother In Laws address as our mailing address for USCIS because we move around a bit.

Well she forgot to give us the appointment notice and I missed it. She just gave it to me unopened today, even though she normally always opens these to check. It said the petition will be assumed abandoned if the appointment is missed.

Am I completely screwed or can it be resubmitted? My original greencard has expired although I have the one year extension.

I'd hurry to the asc office indicated on the letter tomorrow first thing in the morning to see if they can do a late biometrics. Maybe you'll be lucky

The date of my appointment was the 23rd June though. I just received this notice today. I need to know if they don't let me if I can file again or not. And in the meantime is my year extension still valid?

Nevertheless, the first thing to do is going to the ASC and seeing if they'll take your biometrics late. If not, that's one thing, but you have to go find out first.

The center is in a different state. If I change the mailing address to where we are currently living would they resend the appointment notice and reschedule to a local ASC?

no worries, I have a friend in the same situations, they called the National customer support and they advised him to go to the ASC on any following Wednesday and request for biometrics to be taken. ASC will normally not deny the walk-in if they are not too busy.

but you should act inmediatly. you dont have time to waist, so tomorrow call them and travel if it needed

Changing your address DOES NOT automatically regenerate an appointment notice. (Btw, you should always inform USCIS of where you are whether or not it is convenient to you). Now being in another state adds yet another wrench in there. No one on this website can tell you what will happen which is why you are being told to contact them directly yourself. Good luck!

Go to the closest center with your letter and they most likely will do your biometrics right then. Other people have done the same when they missed an appointment.
