You know on the list of the ten most 'dangerous' dogs I've owned quite a few of them, with never a problem. Unless you count the wolf-dog... but he was special. There are indeed a lot of misconceptions, fear, and myths about pit bulls that lead to a very wrong public perception.

Unneeded shootings and deaths of pets is also a problem with police of which there are very vocal organizations and support groups hoping to also change these statistics. Many of these cases are appalling. Strangely the root seems to come from the same issue - bad cops, bad training, and an overall lack of accountability when a cop has behaved badly. Fix these issues instead of making excuses - and both humans and pets can start surviving police encounters and cops can start making less 'mistakes'.

This is exactly what I said and note I did not say many or most either !

And it still has to do with nothing but it is all about race.

There was no institutional racism against white people and black people that suffered racism during the civil rights era

are still alive and well and so are their children. Some white people aren't over it yet and are still in the

oppression mindset and blacks are guarded.

Chew on that for a while and perhaps the light bulb will come on of why we have a BLM movement and a 'black community'.

It is not a group that thinks alike but it is a group that not so long ago had to use different bathrooms than whites. Duh !

List of ten most 'dangerous' dogs

I have 2 Malamutes previously.

They are the most friendly dogs, hence they make poor guard dogs.

Sometimes people do not know how to 'approach' dogs properly, causing the dogs to snap / bite them 'unintentionally'.

I've had German Shepherds most of my life and never had a problem either. But I do believe that Pit Bulls and their close relatives (rottweilers) are breeds that are predisposed to violence due to centuries of breeding for fighting. Pit Bulls were introduced to the US as fighting dogs from Europe in the 1800's, so most of the breed that is here has that background in them. I do believe the dog's owners and it's surroundings play a part as well, but no other breed of dog has the numbers of deaths and attacks as the Pit Bull does.

was what I posted on my FB page yesterday because it makes so much sense and I loved it.

The OP does not follow this wise motto.

We should not judge groups as a whole, police officers, blacks, whites, Muslims, but come back to the word SOME.

This is Kindergarden material, grown adults should get this. So when you bash BLM bash those who are violent

in the movement and support those who want peaceful equality, don't bash the movement.

Had shepherds, pits, Rottweiler, Dobermans, and Dalmatians (man that one always throws me). I could see a potential to be fiercely protective in other breeds, but my Dal was a lover not a fighter (unless it came to hunting out mice and then she was lethal). Someone could have walked right into the house and she would have probably shrugged and went back to sleep. I think a lot of Pit attacks come from those that have them around small children (which can be a worry around some breeds), irresponsible owners, not training them, and not spay/neutering. Dogs taken out of abuse situations and fighting situations need a special owner and shouldn't be passed off to just anyone. Malamutes are gorgeous dogs!

I was obedience director at our local kennel club and trained hundreds of dogs of all breeds.
The dogs got it the minute I took over the lead and the owners thought I had magic pixie dust !
I have also bred and shown and exhibited dogs for decades.
Just got 2 puppies from Russia because of the pedigrees and quality type I was looking for.
Genetics, training, approach all have something to do with the end results.

We have a saying, there are no stupid dogs, just stupid and ignorant owners.
It takes an educated dog owner who knows how to read a dog and find their fit for a certain dog breed.
If Suzy next door buys a pit bull and is clueless it can spell disaster. Even with a Yorkie.
