Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack is likening Donald Trump to Bernie Madoff, who defrauded his investment clients out of billions of dollars.

"Donald Trump is sort of to politics what Bernie Madoff was to investment," Vilsack, who is reportedly being considered to serve as presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's running mate, said Saturday afternoon in an interview with NBC News.

"He is selling something that people don't fully understand and appreciate what it actually means."

I think hell may have just shifted into deep freeze mode, because I agree with you. But I think that may actually work to our advantage. One thing for sure, Trump is NOT running for the money, neither today nor for the retirement years.

I don't see how... He makes more on interest in a year than he will make as president. His investments will make the presidential retirement (an amount of money few will ever earn) seem like pocket money.

Yes but Millard Fillmore actually served as president. If Trump acutally swears the oath of office, then he will officially be the least prepared and most inadequate President, which is worse than being the least prepared and most inadequate candidate.

I wonder whether regulations or laws will force him to place all of his investments into a blind trust, if he's elected.

Doesn't Hillary make her money off her political influence? You may not be a Hillary or Trump supporter, but like every presidential election in the past 100 years or so, it is binary. No matter how good a third party candidate looks, only Trump and Hillary have a shot unless something drastic happens in the next few months. I'd much rather vote for an unconventional candidate that doesn't peddle their potential political influence to whoever pays the most money.
