My peition is already approved by nvc now waiting for interview date. Do you think it will create problem to get visa. My visa type is cr1. Plz help. Thanks in advance.

My wife's passport and my US passport have no mention of either parents. I do not know why it would matter that your Father's first name is spelled incorrectly as the passport is YOUR ID and should contain information about YOU. Since the US passport contains information about you like surname, given name, nationality, date of birth, date of issue, date of expiry, who issues the passport, the passport number, gender, and a signature (the US passport signature is on another page but it still must be signed to be valid). Any other information is extra and not important.

The only time it may come up is at the interview as you will complete the forms with information about your parents--this is the only time that that information will even come up in the process--for us we had to put her parent's information on the DS-230 and DS-157 forms. They will not ask about your Father's name given it is so easy to miss this mistake and even if they do, just explain it is a slight spelling error and which spelling is the correct one.

My 2 cents:

If his name is spelled correctly, don't worry about it at all. In case you are asked, explain them that it is a silly mistake and I am sure it would make sense. But don't proactively start talking about it and answer when asked. I know that the COs are fairly aware of process and documents back home and will understand if there is a reasonable explanation.

Don't worry about it and just go with positive thoughts. Best of luck
